DIM Relay?

What is the DIM relay for in the small relay box next to the main fuse panel? Mine is missing but it looks clean where it would plug in almost as if it used to be in there and someone removed it.

I'm curious as well as I've been trying to figure out why my running board lights don't work. But the plug in looks very clean and unused but is labelled "DIM."

I couldn't find anything online.
