Yeah I gave everything a once over but I'll look again.

I'm guessing there's a strong possibility that it's these tires. They seem like they've seen better days.

Ok so I have done a few things over the past week or so

I rotated the rear tires to the front and it got even worse so I decided to just get some new(used) tires. Was able to find a very nice pair of 285/75r16 bfg at ko for cheap so I replaced the two worse tires and it drastically reduced vibrations.

Right now the only vibrations are from the old rear tires, so I am sure that set of tires were just bad. I am going to buy 2 new bfg at ko, so hopefully ill be vibration free.


I also finally removed the aftermarket running board that came on the truck. I had about 5 people tell me to take em off so I decided it was time.




I also painted the wheels with some duplicolor graphite wheel paint. I remembered why I never used this can I had laying around, the stuff has some really bad texture to it.
Either way it looks much better than before, the wheels were BEAT :scared:

I also plastidipped the rear bumper, bull bar, grill etc

Along with removed the bug guard and PIAA lights that were old, and not working. And wired pretty ghetto.






Next is sealing up these cv boots, along with some other boring maintenance things. :nerd:

I did a few things, installed some turn signals up front since there was none since I bought the truck. Nothing fancy, just some temporary ones.
Also hid some wiring up front to clean things up. Nothing substantial just got bored today.






I realize the trans cooler is hangin low. It was done like that on purpose. I didn't want it to cover too much of the condenser or radiator. It's summertime in AZ right now and the temps get a little crazy:flame:

I'll eventually tuck it up there when I figure out my front bumper situation.

You have to get a bumper on that thing. If you get into an accident the truck will be totaled. I'd give you my old one if you weren't on the other side of the country. :usa2:

tell me about it, there has been a total of 1 pop up for sale in my area and the guy never answered his phone.

However I have a buddy who has the beginnings of a plate bumper that I might use and build off of. Either way it needs some protection and some weight up there.
We'll see what happens.

finally one popped up on craigslist not too far from me for a decent price. Was able to grab a bunch of of random trim pieces I needed as well so it worked out.

I also got myself a rack for a good price, other than that not much has changed. It is a bit too hot here to be doing much wrenching or 4wheelin





Just finished up summer classes, I have one more semester to go at ASU then I will be done with college!!!! woop:plane:
 
Made the jump to some 315/75r16

and too be quite honest the gearing isn't bad at all.

Obviously there is some rubbing right now because I just have a suspension lift but that will be cured with the bodylift in the near future.

And I can tell you with 100% certainty that for my driving conditions it is not a necessity. I live in a pretty big city but it is flat so I have that on my side.
On ramps take a little more umph to get up to speed but that is the only issue I have noticed. As I was driving around town, stop light to stop light I couldn't even notice em.

I am sure gearing will make things better but for me it wasn't a necessity.

I live in the "foothills" so a lot of big long gradual climbs haha I'd think that I'd have to regear

yeah if I lived somewhere similar I might consider gearing.
I am going to be taking it out wheeling next weekend so I will be able to report on how it does off road

Had a full jug of toyota red coolant laying around so I did a coolant flush, the stuff that came out was an...uhhhh... interesting culmination of colors.

And yes I filled her up with 1 gallon of coolant and 1.3 of distilled water :police:

I then remembered that I had ordered some LEDs for my last 4runner that I never got around to using, I lucked out and they worked for my dash :bounce:

I now need to order the rest

Love that look! Can you tell me what bulbs you ordered and where you found them? (Should be the same for my 2000 I assume)
 
I MAY have the bag laying around with bulb numbers but I forget. I believe there are different bulbs as the years progress, but there is a thread floating around on here that should have the bulb numbers you need :)

snapped a few more pics of different angles when the lighting was better, I will probably be ordering the body lift here in the next couple days. I just need to make my mind up on what size.








I am going to be road tripping up to San Diego this weekend so I guess we will see how the gears/tires are on a long drive. Should be interesting.

I just got back from a roughly 700 mile road trip with the runner. Went to San Diego yesterday morning and came back today. The truck did great, and besides the nasty hills that you have to climb on the I8 there were no issues.

The altitude goes from sea level to 4800ft in a pretty short distance so the climb was brutal in this heat. There were a bunch of cars on the side of the road, but the 4runner trucked right along even with the 35s and stock gearing. :fro:
