nice build so far man. I keep looking at your 4runner and mine in my driveway and dont understand how yours looks so much higher up front? I know yours measures 24" from hub to fender and mine measures 23" but looking at it i dont think i could fit 315's at all. I have the sonoran steel 1.2 lift.
But anyways really diggin your runner. the jaos bull bar makes it look like a mini land cruiser.

The tires give it some height as well. Once I get my body lift in I plan on lowering the front a little.
I initially set the 5100s to the second perch thinking it would level it out with the superflex rear springs but I wasn't so lucky. I'm hoping to have it all squared away in the next few weeks.
And thanks man, I go back and forth whether or not I want to keep the bull bar but I kinda like it. Once a proper front bumper is made for it I'll ditch it.

Boring update, but it is something I have wanted to do since I got the truck.
De-badged and dipped the license plate trim and the toyota symbol badge above it. I am probably going to paint the badges black and re-install them in the future depending on how I feel about this look in the future.

I am really considering making my own. It is hard to imagine shelling out $1k for a bumper. For that I could buy a decent mig welder off craigslist and all the materials for a front and rear bumper. And maybe even sliders as well.

I have been going through a bunch of DIY ones that I have seen on here and other sites. Trying to get some inspiration. Whatever I do is going to have to wait until after summer. :satan:

4runner is looking good man. Did you ever get your vibrations figured out? When I bought my 99 recently on the ride home it had vibration in the front which I thought came from the old bald tires but recently I put a set of nitto trail grapplers on it and the vibration is still there.

Mine is only there from around 67-70 after and before that it is smooth.
I plan on going with some fj80 wheels eventually so I am hoping it is my wheels not wanting to balance with the larger tires on em.

Well I was trying to decide between 5 spokes or some fj80 wheels and then these things popped up on a local fb page for a good price.

Back is squating more than usual due to a bunch of weight in the rear right now.
It is hard to tell from the pics but they are leaps and bounds over the old wheels. The old wheels were not treated well during their life. And I did a half assed paintjob in order to try to spruce them up for the time being and it showed.

A few small things to add
Got some TRD decals on, which I know is hit or miss with you guys but Ive been wanting them so I went for it. :hat:
My son asked me to take him out to the mountains and when we got there he was dead asleep so I just took a quick pic and went back home lol.
And I started this little project tonight. I need to do a little more sanding and then paint. Attach the mesh and install the FJ40 emblem.
Also a local guy was nice enough to swap out doors with me. He had a clean passenger door so I threw him some cash and my door and we swapped em out. :whoo: I know it was hard to see in the pics but there was a series of dings/dents on it that bothered the crap out of me. I will snap a pic tomorrow.
I also ordered a 2" body lift and got some new cv axles that are waiting to go in.

I was an idiot and sold it for about half of what I could have gotten. I was in a pinch and needed it gone. Someone got a friggin good deal on it.

I've looked at a couple around me, but they have been pretty neglected. Those and the LC's really hold their value.
