I've been eyeing them on Total automotive performance's site. I like the boxed construction.

I'd love to see some pics when you install yours
 
The box construction looks good, the red bushings and uniballs are trouble for a daily street driver as far a noise goes. Let's see how much caster u get installed . If they give some nice +4 caster , might be worth a try.
 
Thank goodness they come with zerk fittings then lol. I hope it gives high castor as well but from everything I've read I'll be lucky to get 3 seems like the heim designs will give higher caster numbers but we will see. Hopefully be installed next week
 
Just got the uca in and be doing the install tomorrow. Question do I need to get an alignment right away or is there a break in period?

Alignment right away. There is no "break in" period for suspension components. Springs will settle a bit (not as much as people think) but that is all.
 
been posted here before. I really got into it with the retailer. I had some questions about the strength of a mitred and welded boxed design as opposed to forged (ICON) and bend chomoly tubing (Total Chaos et al.) If I recall correctly, he said something about internal gussets and said he'd be in touch with the designer and get back to me with answers, but never did.
 
From what I've read majority on the Tacoma side, the way dirt King designs their stuff and how they weld them is strong if not stronger. Tbh I don't think I will ever be able to test max strength of both etc so for my use i don't see it being sub par to any of the other aftermarket uca out there. And I like the looks of the box design too so yolo
 
Boom much better. Fixed my handling issues. That ball joint sucks to beat out. Not sure why the left is much higher caster but no complaints how she drives

Just giving an update. I have maybe a few hundred miles on them but no squeaks from the uniball or bushings. I know that was a common thing with other uniball uca.

We asked Nick and Dustin of Dirt King to chime in, they must have got side tracked or a little busy.

Fact of the matter is a boxed control arm is much stronger than a tube arm. Dustin @ DK will be more than happy to explain why they chose the box design for their control arms. Dirt King can be reached at (619) 944-8913.

They are very high-end arms and a lot of T4R members like [MENTION=126173]SKP-4R[/MENTION] run them with great results.

Dirt King is a great company. I wouldn't worry about strength. The billet UCA's ICON makes are really for looks. Of course billet is strong, but the boxed design is more than plenty. They have been making LT stuff on prerunner trucks for years and are a proven design. I'm running the heim joint version and have had zero issues. No squeaks. Nothing other than a clean every now and then. Have never needed an alignment other than after initial installation.

Really happy to hear your gear is working great!

Summer is here, so we are going to have to meet up for an offroad adventure soon.
 
A bit more feedback for the dirt king UCAs,

I got a great alignment, now the 4Runner handles better than ever before. Tracks beautifully on the highway.

The tech did a great job. He mentioned that 4 degrees was certainly possible, and to return if I wasn't satisfied with the handling.
