Carrier props!

Hey now that you've hit the snow, or at least a sneak peek, what are your thoughts on the extra grooves in the KM2's? Any new impressions for traction / slip / lateral stability? Any change in noise?

So far it's good, but I need more snow before I can give it a fair evaluation. Let me get them in a couple more "winter" conditions and then I'll let you know.

I will say this, I have not noticed any issue's or "con's" to this. The tires sound the same, ride smooth, and balance fine. I don't see how it could hurt the performance of the tires, especially after you wear them down a little.

Small update…

I got the back up light installed and wired (along with the license plate light). It might be overkill, but it matches the rest of the lights and I would rather have more light. It's a Rigid Industries Dually D2 with the diffused lens, and it's bright! The diffused lens really makes a wall of light, not much distance but perfect for a reverse or rock light. Better pictures of the carrier and light output coming soon!

The phone is an iPhone 5c, it does pretty good for just being a phone. It's also easier that digging out my other dedicated camera.

:tea: Thanks for the info. You know, nowadays it IS easier to snap a quick picture or two with your phone, than pulling out/carrying a dedicated DSLR Due to their technological breakthroughs.. Although Of course many will agree nothing beats the big guns of a SLR. :yo:

Very true, I'm usually just taking quick snap shots so the phone works fine. When I have the time (solo, a or small group) I play with the GoPro's.

Better than without the extra grooving for sure, but they are still half worn KM2's (they will work for the time being though). I do think the grooving makes a difference, and I see myself grooving all my tires in the future (to a certain extent, depending on thread depth).

I met up with a few guy's on the board to go run Chinaman's down in Buena Vista. We figured there might be an inch or two of snow, but we did not expect 6-8" (if not more in spots)! Chinaman's is a rock crawling trail that you can usually run year round, it hardly ever has more than a couple inches on it. This much snow really made things interesting, but we all made the best of it. We decided not to drop into the loop (because of the snow and the steep descents).
