Dirtyfingers' build thread..

It's slowly coming along. Looking good and I can't wait to test this stuff on the trail....well I hope I don't have to test it but you know what I mean right?

Sweet man, I love those paint jobs for some reason. If you need any advice, Foxrider65, or myself can help ya out man.

Me too. The desert dune/sand color seems to look like all the runners should have come that way from the factory. Did you rattle can it? or spray gun? Or did you get it professionally painted?

Look who followed me home. Cs144! My alt took a leave of absence.

So I got some updates, I've done an alternator upgrade, added sliders (finally) and got a bumper! So check it out first the alternator;

You can defiantly see the size difference something that kinda bothered my about the truck was every time I rolled down my windows everything would kinda dim out and my radio would get a bit fuzzy. Also my alternator died on me the day before I did the upgrade.

As I did this and got the wire harness I noticed that it had no color coordination, but referring to doc2012's write up you will notice the harness is labeled as follows;

You don't need to worry about using the S labeled because it doesn't have a wire to connect anything to, the thickest wire goes to the Toyota white wire, the L labeled wire goes to the yellow Toyota wire, and the F labeled goes to the red Toyota wire. Like so;

Pretty straight forward upgrade and I'd recommend doing the big three to anyone who wants to do this too.

Moving forward I finally got some sliders welded on from the elusive ODL... Too bad they went out of business... But I scored on some of their sliders and had them welded on this weekend

I have painted them since so yeah it's pretty cool. Last but not least is my bumper from savage, I was pretty upset when I sold my original bumper with plans of getting a savage front tube bumper, only to find out that they took it off their site, saying they would be doing plans for a new front hybrid bumper...in my head I was thinking "great another ODL situation.." But patience and whatnot had gotten the best of me and when they finally rolled out their new bumpers, I jumped at the opportunity to get it. I couldn't resist! Look at this thing!

Then I took it off to paint it up really quick..

And then it dried and I mounted it up and I couldn't be happier!

So that wraps up my update. Thank you and have a great Labor Day and please, drink responsibly.

Awesome. When I saw those I hoped they would go someplace where they would get used.

How is the light output with your lights behind the bumper? I still can't make up my mind on how I like the new savage bumper, but it is way better than mine. Congrats.

Well I haven't been on here much. I've replaced my cv axles and I tested them by myself on energy way where they do the off-road races. Pretty good axles. Oh and I sold my BMW for a much better vehicle.

The Evo X has always been my favorite since it came out. Got a good deal on it and I had to have it. I mean it only has 340hp to the wheels...hehehe it's sexy though.

Omg when can we hang out? I'll let you borrow the CT-200h (its like a prettier Prius) for an hour and I'll take the Evo.
