Did you go with a 1UZ or 2UZ? How did I not put these pieces together. I knew you lived in San Diego, and someone was doing a v8 swap, and someone also had tan vinyl.
When I found out those were all the same person...brain went kaboom. I'd love to take a look in person, especially since I'll be going through the same drama soon enough.

Love what you"re doing to the 4Runner! I've been dying to do more to my 98, but I fear after my engine replacement last Spring, it"ll be awhile before I can afford it.
A couple of years back, we needed to replace my Wifes' car with something to haul the dogs, we happened across a Mitsubishi Lancer Sportback(wagon). Looked innocent enough, but wow--- with the Ralliart drive train and suspension and the 2.4L 160 odd HP, its really fun to drive! Your EVO with 340HP must be insane! Love Mits!
Well I haven't been on here much. I've replaced my cv axles and I tested them by myself on energy way where they do the off-road races. Pretty good axles. Oh and I sold my BMW for a much better vehicle.
The Evo X has always been my favorite since it came out. Got a good deal on it and I had to have it. I mean it only has 340hp to the wheels...hehehe it's sexy though.

Thank you for the kind words man! Yeah it was a few years that I had this thing before I started modding it. One deployment worth of cash in my pocket and I was under way on the modding. It bit me pretty hard. Then I met my now best friend [MENTION=95206]10ac[/MENTION] and it went on to him as well haha. I seriously love my truck and now it breaks my heart that I'm so close to finishing a v8 swap but I'm snagged up on the electrical side of it. The Evo is currently being built right now so I haven't been driving it, it's getting a new engine and going to be pushing a whopping 550hp once everything is said and done with it. Looking forward to that. It's a good car haha. But I'm more looking forward to my truck right now.

A small update, since I'm dealing with the fly by wire toyota decided to put into this tundra, I'll post my reconing with some not too shabby results. From the accelerator pedal assembly you have a plug that goes from the pedal to the ecu. I pretty much just took the whole wire harness and loom of wires out as a whole and mounted the pedal into my truck along with the harness and whatnot. It was pretty straight forward. Here's just some pics I took of me mounting it into my runner.
Here's what I delt with.
A small test fit.
Since the clearance wasn't good there I ended up mounting it lower and on the hump of the footwell to push the pedal itself a little further out so I can have maximum stomping range.
Once everything was said and done it's now mounted in there and for the most part is functional. Now I just have to wire up the ecu and hope for the best pretty much. If anyone knows better about electronics than me please message me, I now have both factory service manuals and would really appreciate some help.

I'm not sure I've posted here but thought I would. Really great how things are coming along. I remember when u were first as assembling a pile of parts while on deployment. Love the color and the swap is going to be really fantastic, so unique!! Please, make sure to make some videos . Did you or [MENTION=95206]10ac[/MENTION] ever make any of the transgo shift as far as performance goes? I have a kit a kit but am pretty daunted at the undertaking.
I dd an 03 tundra with 275/65 stick gears not even sure. The torque on it blows away the urd'd SC 3.4 with 285 and 4.88's in the 4Runner., I secretly wish it would get stolen and rolled or hit at night.

Chiming in... [MENTION=95069]TBuzz[/MENTION] not quite understanding what your asking about in regards to the transgo shift kit. Dirtfingers and i did the entire install of the kit ourselves and when installing there were 2 types of programs for it. Dirtyfingers did the first one that was street/strip version and i did more firm one. If u are mechanically inclined to work on your vehicle and have patience and can work on the valvebody in a clean area and have all necessary tools required then i would say go for it but also have a friend help too because it was a big help having extra set hands holding stuff up and so on. It's coming along. Working on it all day today, hopefully I get some first start status. The tranny kit was easy enough. This has been a very heart felt build and I remember when I was on deployment, just Piecing everything together, not it's getting built up and just what I've imagined it to be.
Yeah he does! But I've got the manuals from the factory now and it's coming along.

Glad to see your piecing it all together now, you had me scared for a while that you were just gonna pass the project onto someone else! Keep us all updated man. This is gonna be awesome.
And on a side note are you sticking with the 1in body lift?

Yes I stuck with the one inch body lift. Has great fitment all around still.
