Disable Factory Alarm 2011 TE

Hi all,

I'm having some trouble disabling the alarm on my 2011 TE. I am trying to completely deactivate it, meaning if someone broke into to my car the alarm will not go off lol and for those of you that must know, I've been getting several false alarms within the past week so I want to disable it entirely until I can troubleshoot further. Thank you!

I doubt there's a chapter on this in the 2011 Factory Service Manual. Not the sort of information Toyota will have laying around in a convenient 3 step procedure. You'd need to study the wiring diagram

Ensure you battery is in good condition. Don't assume it is. Get it load tested. They do funny things to alarm systems when they get weak.

If none of this helps and the 2am racket has your neighbors in an uproar, install a quick disconnect on the battery. Yeah - you lose radio presets. etc, but no more false alarm until you can get it resolved.

If it were me, I'd ask a dealer to look at it.

Your best bet is to see the dealer or buy Toyota tech stream off eBay.

Might want to find out what model alarm you have. The one that is equipped with my car from the dealer has a sensitivity feature that can be lowered or raised and sounds like you might need to lower yours, if possible.
