DIY maintenance quick reference

Great thread and contribution. I'll definitely be saving this for future reference as it's nice to have all the information in one place.

Power steering fluid
1) Between min and max (cold and hot lines provided)
2) Cold - not driven in last 5 hours (50-85 degF fluid temp)
3) Hot - driven 50 mph for 20 mins (140-175 degF fluid temp)

I would consider adding to this section the replacement fluid type because in the past there has been some ambiguity from Toyota leading to confusion. The manual specifies that power steering fluid is a Dex II/III ATF. Where people have been confused in the past is that the colour of the OEM fluid looks like power steering fluid. Whether OEM is PSF or undied Dex ATF, no one is sure, however forum members seem to have used both PSF and ATF with no problems. Definitely need this as I'm buying soon. Stopped by the local Toyota dealer today after 'committing' through Costco a few days ago. Still trying to figure out what I really want/need.

You know if the drain plug gasket number is good for the overflow plug too?

Not sure. I checked the numbers I provided against a couple of online parts sites. None showed a part number for the overflow plug.

It's out there somewhere - I'm just not sure where.
 
Alright, think I've mostly finished this up other than minor tweaks as I learn more from actual experience. Got the coolant and spark plug sections updated. Got all the parts #'s, bolt sizes, torque specs, etc. I think.

Just let me know if ya'll find more or better DIY threads or vids to link to.

The toyotapartsdeal.com website is suggesting the spark plug P/N provided in the OP is not compatible with my '13 SR5? They suggest this spark plug instead (specifically referenced to my VIN):

90919-01191 - Toyota Parts Deal,

Plug, Spark
SK20HR11
Part Name Code: 19100P

Any reason why this would be incorrect - and when this might have changed?

EDIT - Actually the OP references "SK20HR11" plugs and so does the P/N I linked to - so maybe Toyota just changed their internal numbering for SK20HR11 to 90919-01191? Ordered those :)

I just checked. 2013 manual says DENSO SK20HR11.
2016 manual says DENSO SK16HR11.

Guess they changed at some point. Order the one for the 2013. When I get a chance to go look at all the different years manuals, I'll update the OP to ensure it's not steering anyone astray.

2010-13 spark plug is Toyota 90919-01191 (DENSO SK20HR11)
2014-16 spark plug is Toyota 90919-01233 (DENSO SK16HR11)

I don't know, I'm definitely not the best person to ask. I do know that with a TIS subscription you can look at the new vehicle features section for the different model years and probably find out. Not sure if the answer's worth $15 to you or not.

Per denso's website, the 16 vs 20 denotes a change in its heat range.
If I understand it correctly that would imply its designed for a different temperature in the combustion chamber.
Since there was no change in hp or torque from 2013 to 2014, my guess is its emissions-related.

Interesting. Wonder if the ECU tuning changed at all or what other emissions crap might have been changed? Just a curiosity...
