Do 5th Gen Trail Edition wheels fit on our 4th Gen's?

Getting these now. Same wheels but with tires from a 16. Assume they fit and I don't need spacers?

They should work fine. If your truck is not lifted, you might have a tiny bit of rub on the fender liners in certain situations because the tires will be a bit taller. These will have 265/70/17's where the stock tires that came on a 4th gen are either 265/65/17's or 265/60/18's depending on trim level.

Got mine for $300 pulled the spacers and sold them for a $100 and sold the old sport rims and tires for $400. Love the new wheels and happy to not have baby sit the wheels spacers anymore....

are those 275s? I assume with the 15mm offset of the TE wheels, 275s wont rub anymore? THanks!

so maybe I missed it but what is the offset difference on the 5th gens compared to the 4th? And are all the 5th gens the same backspace

I know the Trail Premium wheels are a 15mm offset, while the 2008 (4th Gen) 4Runner Sport Edition wheels are 30mm. Both are 17x7.5". Mostly all of the Toyota wheels will fit on the hub of any 4Runner, but the offsets are different between year and wheel models (TRD is 0mm offset I believe).

Did you have to do any trimming to fit the center caps securely? or is this photo with wheel spacers still on?

sorry to resurrect this post. i have an 07 sport and will be switching to trail wheels as my rims are pretty beat up. can i still use the same lug nuts i currently have?

If your current wheels are oem wheels, than yes

Bringing this post back from the dead. Just picked up a set of 7spoke Trail wheels for $200. Will my stock 265/65r17 tires fit? I see most people are running 70r17 tires or larger. I don’t know much about tires.

I have trail edition wheels 7 spoke 17x7.5 +15 offset Toyota brand wheels, fitted with some 285/70R17s. Stock 2005 V8 limited with no lift. I understand I may need to trim some plastic to fit them but, what else can be done to make them fit without a lift kit? Can’t afford a lift kit for a few months. Can I try a 2”/1” leveling kit?

Bump. Just picked up a set of unused 2020 4Runner Offroad Trail wheels.

Been dabbling with the idea for many years, even bought spacers but never put them on and eventually sold them.

Was trying to decide if the cost of these wheels were really worth the 0.6" per side as that's the only benefit I get out of them vs my OEM SE wheels. Then a seller I reached out to a few weeks ago dropped her price from $400 to $200 and I felt like I couldn't say no.

So...I think it's worth it?? I may want to go to 275/70/17 from my current 265/70/17 if BFG ever makes a KO* in Load Range C. For now I'll probably mount my existing 265/70/17s on 'em just because they only have 20k miles and its time for a rotate and balance. Guess I need to do an alignment too with the gain in track?

Oh, and my OCD won't let me roll with just 4. Where can I find a cheap 5th for a spare?
