First off I want to thank everyone here for putting together and keeping up a great comunity of knowledge !
So i am a new owner of a lovely '00 SR5 with "only" 230K on the clock, and I'm trying to give her a good nut and bolt / shake down / make sure i know my new daily driver well.
Sure enough it has a mix of random nuts on it, and since this just isnt up to my mild OCD i want ot make sure i have the right nuts holding these wheels on, you know since they are the wheels after all. So a trip down to the dealer to grab a few OEM nuts and then hit up the net to buy more.
So I have the 16" 5 spoke steel rims with the plastic center caps. the holes have a slight conical surface cut into them and then i fit the OEM nuts up to them the washer comes no where close to touching the plastic cap and clearly the nut is not passing through the wheel itself.
this makes a bit of since, but it makes me wonder why the washer is on there to begin with.
So good Sirs, do I have the right nuts for my wheels?
