Do I need to set up Entune Maintenance App on first use?

I apologize as I feel like this is something I should be able to find, but it wasn't clear to me from the user guide and I couldn't find anything from the search. Do I need to set up the maintenance app on first use? I tried programming in the oil change section and entered 5000 miles, and once I did, it started telling me I was due for an oil change.

Do I just need to do nothing, and the app will automatically know when maintenance is needed? Or do I need to look at my maintenance schedule and then program dates/miles into the app?

Also, instead of starting another thread to ask what is potentially a stupid question, where do these items go? The E-shaped carpet mat doesn't seem to fit in any area of my floor, and I can't find a cutout for the plastic piece in the back. Thanks for any help.

The plastic piece looks like your front license plate holder. It has to be screwed in if you want to use it. There are 2 little intentions where the screws that came with it tap into.

The "E" shaped mat is Totota Marketing preparing you to have three kids and eventually trading your 4R for a Sienna.

Now that you have the mat, no thought of buying a Honda...

On the maintenance app, you put in the date u want it to remind you and in how many miles until you want it to remind you. Kinda weird you don't just put in the mileage, but that's how it is. So if you have 1200 miles and you want a reminder at 5k, put in 3800. Then it will countdown. I don't really like that app, the mileage countdown also does not track well with the actual odometer.
