Do new 2022 4Runners come with Remote Connect trial?

I was under the impression that all new Toyota vehicles came with a 1 year trial of Remote Connect, allowing you to remote start the vehicle from the fob or phone, check windows, fluids, location, driving stats all from the app on your phone. But when I tried to use the fob for Remote Start, it didn't work. I checked the app and said it couldn't find any of the Remote Connect services associated with our new TRD ORP. All I seem to have gotten is a trial of Safety Connect.
Did anyone get a one year trial of those services when they bought their 2022 4Runner?

2022 ORP here. Same deal as you. No remote services or remote start. App pretty much only tells me gas level and odometer reading. Pretty useless IMO.

I believe it's still only the Limited and Pro that automatically come with remote connect/start and 1-year trial. Previously I had a 2020 Venture that I had the dealer add remote start to, but it was for just the FOB not the app.

Was hoping to see if all the Connected services were worth it before I paid for it. Some of the other features other than Remote Start looked useful, and don't seem to be on the after market system, and Toy7ota is integrated as an OEM product, a plus in my mind. And at $6.66 a month, Toyota comes with more features for less $$$ than the Compustar Dronemobile Premium service.

:Cry: Geeze, you would think Toyota would at least include the hardware to at least give everyone the option to give them more money! Not very smart.
 
My 2022 did. Off road , Canada.

Can press the key fob to auto start (3 clicks on lock bottom and hold third click) and all app functions after you register your vehicle online.
 
FWIW my 20 Pro has the fob start and I subscribe to the remote services (after trial was over). I find I use it quite often....
I use the remote start to warm up the truck in cold weather. You don't have to actually see the vehicle to make sure it starts, the app notifies you it was successful.
The remote lock feature is also very useful if you think you forgot to lock it (lets say before you went into a movie) you can just check on the app and lock if needed.
And the parking feature is nice, ( i know you can do this on a phone map app) but it came in handy this last weekend parking downtown in a new city we were visiting.
 
They all come with a connected services trial, but you have to activate it to take advantage of all the features. Press the SOS and talk to the nice person who answers. It will still be free for the first year I think.

Just got off the phone with Toyota...RunTheJoules is 100% correct. Only comes on the Limited and Pro. Oh well.

And it makes absolute zero sense that Toyota wouldn't install simple hardware on certain trim levels that adds features they can CHARGE for!
They give you a three month trial of Sirius on an ORP, for crissakes.

Great, not too often we get something more than the US. Mine arrives in 2 months.
 
Yeah this sounds like that thing Louis Rossmann was warning us about recently... paying a subscription to be able to start the car you already OWN. "Driving-as-a-service" F that.

I agree it's insulting, but it's the new Pay-to-Play world. Printer companies started with ink, then Microsoft with Office, Quickbooks, Autodesk, everyone does it, everyone's figured out it's way more lucrative than charging up front.
But Toyota seems to have shot themselves in the foot by not letting everyone that buys a car now to become part of their subscription service.
 
What does it buy you besides remote start and lock? Can it do software updates? I have a really hard time paying Toyota a subscription. 1st year free on my Limited?

I have to be honest — I didn’t even look as I canceled my way out of the initial screens. I hate being ‘sold’ [emoji3]
