A lot changed in the 90's as well when marketers started using the term SUV instead of truck, jeep, etc. Now there are all kinds of acronyms.

This. My mom and dad who were raised in Asia refer to SUVs as Jeeps all the time and they often call my 4Runner a Jeep.

But a 4Runner being called a Pathfinder?
