I might be taking the wife there this weekend to visit a friend. I would have 3 days with nothing to do and it looks like I won't have my 4Runner. It's got a very bad wheel bearing (on order) and I really don't want to drive my Jeep that far. Interested in car shows, hiking, photography, scenic drives, outdoor stuff, festivals, etc. Any good BBQ?

Raven Run Nature Sanctuary is a great place to hike and there is a cool air museum. We were in Nashville the other day and now in Kingston Tennessee, near Knoxville, visiting. My mom lives in this area. Lexington is also a huge horse racing city, if you are interested in checking that out. Have a great weekend!

In laws live in Lexington so I get down there sometimes.
Hiking? Red River Gorge is not far away, can get crowded in the summers. If you want something less crowded a little father east, there are plenty of hiking trails in the Daniel Boone Forest. Jenny Wiley trails.

I drove from Omaha to Lexington and back last week, to visit my folks. They live close to Veterans Park which has some trails, not for 4x4 vehicles though, at least not that I know of... As for food, if you like Chinese, you gotta try the SHANG HAI Bistro, best Chinese food I've had in a long while. The ride there and back was long (12+ hours each way) but went without incident. I now have over 233K miles on my T4R and it rode like a dream and got 20mpg @ 68mph with the AC blasting the whole time. A CB/FRS radio definitely helps pass the time. Have a nice trip and drive safe!

I second the bourbon trail! Woodford Reserve would be high on that list.

How was it?
It was really hot so I skipped the hike to the natural bridge. I did the red river loop and that was pretty cool. I also took the scenic drive over to Frankfort that you mentioned, which was very nice. Lots of beautiful huge horse farms.
Ate fried chicken at Ramsey's which was supposed to be the best in the city. It was OK, but not great. Ate at The Ketch seafood place, it was good, similar to a red lobster menu. Food was good, good service, but it was pretty warm in there. Ate at Blue Door Smokehouse which was rated the number one restaurant out of like 638 or something. It's a very small, casual place with maybe half a dozen tables. It looks a bit like an old gas station from the outside. I got there about 2 and all they had left was pulled chicken and turkey. The guy was friendly and said they had sold over 600 pounds of meat that day already. I would have liked to get the pulled pork, but the chicken was very good. It was late and we were going out to The Ketch in a few hours so I skipped the sides. Hit Krispy Kreme Sunday morning.
I saw a car show at a drive in when I was going to dinner but, by the time I went by it later there were only a handful of cars left.
I also found two $1000 55" Samsung LED smart TVs for $199 at Walmarts and a couple Windows tablets with keyboards for $109, so that was kinda nice. :^)
