Dobinsons 5th Gen T4R Suspension options - from Exit Offroad

@%1; My 2017 Limited Xreas started leaking after our cross country trip so I guess it's time to replace it. I was trying to figure out what setup I should get for my rig and got a little lost. I have an SSO slimline front bumper and winch, hopefully RCI sliders soon, and will eventually be custom fabricating a rear "hybrid" bumper with no swingouts or anything. Hoping to keep it under 100 pounds. We do take it on road trips often and have the back loaded with a couple hundred pounds of stuff and an additional hitch carrier with another 200-300 pounds of stuff. Daily driving it though, it has a stroller and a diaper bag in the back. Don't want to lift past 2.5" but would prefer sitting around 1.5-2". What would you recommend?

Geez, that's probably the newest Xreas setup I've heard about leaking. Is Toyota not going to cover to fix it?

Is the suspension still all stock currently?

C59-302 front coils for ~2" with the weight and C59-325 in the back for 1.5-1.75" with rear constant weight installed. Then the 700 front struts and 701 rear shocks, your choice of the 3 different shock types.

We've got 67k miles on them. All stock suspension for now. I have a feeling we exceeded the payload capacity on our last trip which may have lead to premature failure. Hitch carrier had closer to 500 pounds, the back was completely stuffed, we had the roof full, and around 500 pounds of people and dogs. I didn't inquire with Toyota because I really don't want it replaced with the same thing if I have the opportunity to upgrade.

Wheelers has the T13 at 196lb. Though I am not sure how that is 12% over stock when stock should be 180sh.

Hey man, that's pretty straight forward. 302/599 coils with 700/705 shocks.

The only coil made for those lifts 1" over stock, with no additional weight. It would help offset added weight if your front end squatted when it was added.

Looks like we'll finally be able to fulfill all the backorders waiting on those. A bunch of other parts came in too, but since these coils have been out for 3+ months, wanted to share that info.

Not much to add, but I thought I'd post up in this topic since I read the whole thing front to back while I was looking into suspension options! I went with a Dobinsons complete twin tube setup on my 2017 SR5. 1.75-2" lift in front and 1" in the rear. Initially, the rear looked really high (I initially had 2" of lift in the back by my measurements) but the rear has settled perfectly after a few thousand miles.

I'm very very happy with the suspension. It rides SO much better than stock around town and it performs well on rough forest roads. I would post up some glamor shots of the rig but this forum's photo upload system is horrendous! Thanks to Mike for all the great info and solid customer service. I would buy Dobinsons again and again!

No, been sold out since November.

Some time between now and Christmas, they should be in. We don't have a firm ETA at this time. 2-3 months minimum I'd say

I'm looking to purchase an IMS kit for my 18 Limited and would like your advise. Current setup is stock Xreas with daystar spacers, although I've been fine with this setup up unitl this point in what I use it for, but I always planned to get full suspension but just didn't want to rip out brand new suspension.

Current setup on my rig is stock weight front and about 200lbs of constant weight in the rear from DIY drawer system loaded with tools and recovery gear. When traveling I have the rear loaded with 2 kids both is child seats and all my camping gear so the rake is to avoid any squad under full load or at least minimize it as much as possible while maintaining a desirable stance.

What I'm looking for is 3/2.25-2.5 lift. I want a slight front rake but would like to stay under .50" rake. Let me know what I would need to achieve this lift spec.

No 302s period or none beyond what's needed for backorders? Already had to do my Arizona trip without the lift/tires, hoping to get everything installed before the spring trips begin.

Weight added to the rear will of course cause squat, and the more you add, the lower it will go. With 200lbs constant load in the rear daily, you'd use C59-327 coils for ~2.25-2.5" of lift. And IMS59-50701 shocks

Up front, you can use the C59-314 coils on IMS59-50574 struts set to the lower/standard coil seat height for 3" of front lift.

Add UCA's, diff drop kit, and rear sway bar links, and you're all set.
