That's great to hear!!The IMS handles significantly better than my old TRD PRO Bilsteins. When it's time to replace the shocks, I feel I will buy another set and rebuild my old ones as spares.
When I hit the Alpine Loop again this summer I will have more confidence than last time.
My use case: I'm a conservative driver offroad. I explore the San Juan Mountains, CO and Utah National Parts annually. At home, in FL, I use back roads for remote campsites 1-2 times a month. These are more than adequate for my applications.
Initial concerns: I was initially worried I would not like the stiffer "701" IMS rear shocks; but in the end I am happy with how the car handles off-road. My concerns were completely unfounded.
Thanks for checking in!

Yeah, I don't like to call the IMS59-50701's "stiffer". They're the standard valving Dobinsons recommend on this vehicle, and then they made a softer version for those who really only daily drive their vehicles while empty. They probably don't even need to offer the softer option to be honest.
Arrrggghhh, that drive from Florida out to Colorado really does suck!! Takes forever!!
Placed order with Mike couple days ago. Everything shipped already.
Went with
Front Springs: C59-302 - 2.5" Lift Stock Load, 2" w/150LBS Added Load
Front Shocks: IMS59-50700
Rear Springs: C59-505 - Stock rear end, 1.5" lift
Rear Shocks: IMS59-50701
SPC UCAs - 25480
Treaty Oak Offroad - KDSS Spacer Kit
Saving up $$$ for the same lift

Currently as it sits with 200 miles on ODO, I have 2 3/4 Visual Rake Front to Back from ground to top of fender cutout with measurement going through center of the hub. ( I will measure floor to frame just for records too)
Most people measure fender to center of hub. Air pressure and tire size will have an effect on your readings (fender to ground or ground to frame) to the ground and you'll get differing readings in the same day... more drastic differences between a summer & winter reading or immediately after installing new tires.
Ordered a bunch of stuff I've been waiting on. Thank you Mike for great timely service in catching my stupid mistake on shipping address!
Just got my suspension kit. Order was placed 11/9/22 and arrived today. Just waiting for the Swaybar End Link Kit.
Thank you Mike!
My newly installed Dobinsons IMS 50574 Front with C59-300 coil & 50701 Rear with C59-325 Coil.

You can keep the coils you have now, change the fronts out and see how the rake is when it's done, and then change out the rear coils if you need. There's only 1/2" difference between the 599's and 505's.I came here looking for info on the IMS59-50705 and just saw they are discontinued. A front coil on my TRD FJ kit just snapped. It was super cheap and has been great for 80K KM or so, but I welcome the excuse to finally order an IMS kit for my 2015 4Runner.
Truck is a family hauler for vacations and loads of mountain biking locally, where we have a lot of logging roads.
With the FJ TRD kit, 1/4" top plate spacers, and C59-599 rears, I reckon the old lift was about 1.75" front and 1.25" rear from stock. Great for us. Then I added a pelfrey hidden winch plate, Warn M8000s winch, and group 27 AGM battery.
I need to avoid going much higher this time. For the front we are pretty sure we go with:
- IMS59-50700
- C59-302 (for ~2" with winch plate & battery ?)
Questions about the rears:
- Was interested in the IMS59-50705, since kids back there, but I haven't found much info online. We are in Canada and there is still stock of 50705 up here. Should I just get those, or order the IMS59-50701 and gamble that I get the new ones?
- Is there any way to identify the re-valved IMS59-50701 vs previous ones?
- Was going to get another set of C59-599, but with C59-302 up front I am worried about sag. Can I run C59-599 with C59-302 in front, or do I need C59-505 in the rear?
Thanks!
