Looks great! Which springs did you go with front and back?

I was considering pairing them with 5100s. Looks like I might need to reconsider too. How is the ride?

So the exact item numbers are:
C59-314
C59-725
GS59-221
GS59-637

The ride is amazing. Right off the bat we did a 250mile round trip drive. The rear was a tiny jumpy initially, but is settling in well. The height is exactly where I wanted it. The truck feels so much tighter when driving around now. I’d seriously consider them as a set, versus trying to mix and match 5100s with the springs. These shocks are a considerable size diameter larger over the 5100s. Mike and his crew in Miami are great and super friendly (plus their stuff is reasonably priced).

Here is my 2005 with dobinson springs. Put c59-302 up front with bilstein 5100 set at 0. In the rear went with c59-505.

Guess I'll post mine. Bought from another member on here. 2.5 front and 1 inch in the rear on 5100. Sits perfectly level. I've had it these springs for a few weeks now and the ride is impressive. First, my old Frankenstein suspension set up was with Tacoma off road front springs on .85 which gave me close to 2.5 inch lift. For the rear, it was fj springs riding on 1.5 daystar spacers. I went with this set up based on others on here. Frankly speaking, it rode stiff as f**k. The rear was jumpy and the front are pre-load which makes it jumpy too. On the freeway it would really feel like it would fly every time you hit a bump or dip. Really! On fire road I can't keep pace with stock Tacoma or Tundra. My suspension has too much pre-load so it would slide left of right. Pretty much suck. Unsure if I wanted to get anymore idea from the net. I couldn't pass up the deal I got for these. All I can say is wow. The ride is compliant and balance. Takes up freeway bump like a champ, cornering is more flat, barely any nose dive and eats up fire road. I'm very impressed. I can only guess with their shocks matched with the springs would yield a slightly better ride than the 5100. Anyways, here's the pic I recently took. Normally, I would cringe having to drive out of town with the old suspension because it would want to leap every time I hit a bump big or small and because of that, the truck want to steer different direction because the suspension is not allowing the wheels to roll over bump smoothly. In the future I may step up to the 1.5 inch rear lift as I like a bit rake. But for now it ride perfect for me. :lock1:

What would you recommend for the front with a 170# ARB bumper. I upgraded to 700# springs on my 6112s but still not wild about the nose dive. Do you offer anything better?

Front struts are $250 per pair, and rear shocks are $190 per pair.

So you're still experiencing nose diving with the 6112's and 700# springs? Are other people experiencing that too? With that sort of spring rate, it shouldn't be that noticeable. Maybe those shocks are too soft?

We make some armored 925# springs, but that might be a little bit of overkill.

On a separate note, I’m currently running 5100s with the front set at 2.5” and the Daystar 1.5” rear spacer (to eliminate reverse rake). I’m running almost brand new (250 miles) FJ springs on all 4 corners.

As a contractor, I’m routinely driving with enough load in the truck to lower the rear suspension by 1/2-5/8”. I’m also about to bolt on about 125lbs of armor (engine and trans) up front in addition to the 1/4” plate steel LCA armor already installed.

If I was to retain the 5100s for now, what spring rates would you recommend running and will I still need to utilize the Daystar spacer?

C59-302 on the front is what I'd suggest unless you want to run a heavier 730LB rate and go with C59-350.

On the rear, I'd suggest C59-325 and take out the spacer, although if you carry heavy loads pretty much daily, the C59-327 would be a better coil. Actually the C59-727 has offset heights to correct for a lean, which the 4th gens can get, so that would be my suggestion - C59-727 on the rear.

Springs should be chosen with all your plans in place of how much weight you're going to add. Adding a bumper in 3 months or 3 years? Go with the coils to suit it now.

So if i am looking to replace my XRES suspension on my 03 V8 4Runner and am looking for a simple level stance with out much of a lift just want to level off the truck, slight lift is fine but not looking for anything crazy.

Rear: Dobinson C59-323

I was going to just get the moog springs but with all the issues people have with the rear not seating correctly i figure getting some real springs may be worth it.

Yes, you can put the fronts at the lowest setting.

About $400 delivered for both pairs.

I think the 302's on the front with the 599's in the back would be a better option, otherwise rear may sit too low.

Or go with 300's and 323's. You just don't want the rear to be lower than the front.

Front: C59-302 coils / GS59-220 struts (~3" lift)
Rear: C59-677V coils / GS59-575 shocks (~3" lift)

I finally got the 4Runner out of the garage (long story) with the new suspension!! I still need to schedule an alignment, but after just a few short trips it feels pretty nice and the stance ended up being exactly what I was after!

I'd post pics, but need to figure out what to use instead of Photobucket... even though my pics from Photobucket are still showing up... weird.
