Dobinsons Mike I'm running FJ Overland coils 200/300, but since changed over to a LT shock, and offset links. Problem I'm having is there not long enough free height.
I know your C59-677V springs are a cure, but there only rated at #230.

Granted I have full skids, bumper, roof rack and sliders, they should be enough, but when I do load down with gear for off roadding/camping or hook up my trailers, tends to hit max weight if not more.
I like the 200/300 variable I have for my purpose even though a little ruff at times, truck like.

Curious if you plan on or make one with 300lb rating? Variable that is.

From 5th gen thread, maybe try the 701? 677 give a very full 3" lift for me with stock bumper, sliders, and nothing loaded inside, rides like a truck when empty. With a full load of camping gear and stuff on the roof ~400lb in the rear they don't sag much and still ride great. With your bumper and heavy loads (see description below of extra stuff you might have) you'd have to choose 677 or 701. Either will for sure have enough free length to not fall out, they are LONG.

"C59-677V - Variable rate comfort option, 400+LB heavy rear load weight, 3" lift. 500/500mm, 16mm wire, 157-230LB variable
C59-701V - Variable rate, 600+ LB heavy rear load weight, 3" lift, long travel. 500/500mm, 210-245LB variable. Designed for those with heavy full rear bumper, tire carrier, roof rack, RTT, drawers, and fridge. Rides very well with all that weight, as well as when loaded even further."

We made these for the 5th Gen guys, which you could run if you believe you have enough weight on the rear.

C59-701V - Variable rate, 600+ LB heavy rear load weight, 3" lift, long travel. 500/500mm, 210-245LB variable. Designed for those with heavy full rear bumper, tire carrier, roof rack, RTT, drawers, and fridge. Rides very well with all that weight, as well as when loaded even further.

You're sure you have 200/300 coils now? Who makes them? Seems like everyone else doesn't make a coil as suitable to weight as ours, and that's why people with Icons, MT, and Toytec are all trading out for ours. Even our long travel super heavy 80 series front and rear tapered coils don't run all the way up to 300LB rate, otherwise they wouldn't flex for :toilet:

Yes, 230LB per inch, to give a good ride, but they're very long and compress a lot, so you can't just focus on that number. 19.7" (500mm) of free height before installation, expect them to compress down to about 10-12" or so, roughly, that's 3600-4000LBS riding on the pair of coils at ride height.

You can either run longer and softer rate coils to achieve lift and ride quality, or run shorter stiffer coils, like the C59-327 or C59-329.

Check the 5th Gen thread and you'll see what the guys are running with their weights and what they took off.

No RTT or Drawer, or fridge on mine.
Running the Icon FJ Overland coils. ICON-52800 1. 200/300. 17". Had them for 2yrs now.
They want to come out of the buckets when flex.

Your 701s sound like they would be less rigid when not loaded down. Might squat a little more with horse and trailer though. But I don't pull it on a regular bases.

Edit... but I do need close to 3" when I'm empty. Plus wouldn't hurt either.

I do believe you had the MT long travels. Posted 105/300 On them.

Trying to make this my last and final change.

I am running the Dobinson's C59-677V. I am actually thing about going up to their next spring. I was on bumpstops quite a bit and need a little more lift. I was weighted down pretty good for the trip. I do have a pair of MT long travel coils if you want to give a shot.

The way your setup is the same as I was when I first put in the Overland coils, and same experience.
Probably dropped maybe .5" w/bumper. I do have a 1.5" spacer on driver side.

Need to measure my height from stock to see. Running 886 coils in front on V6 almost makes me level now.

Appreciate your input also.

I know I'm not as heavy in the ass like you and don't think I really hit the stops until I seriously do some flexing like I was.
When I still had 32s and different shocks on, I could get a LOT more compression travel with Overland coils then now, so do expect hitting bump stops would probably be a normal.

Might be a good idea to try your MT springs as what you posted in your build was about the same as the 677s.
I do like the idea that Dobinsons coils design has more wraps on the heavy side of the coil versus the MTs. I can't find the thread anymore, but I though I seen where the MTs had a slight thicker wire diameter, I could be wrong.

Probably where this is messing my head all up on this subject since our last run.

Thank Krister Appreciate your input also.

Also, give me enough time, I may even have the C59-677V's you could try out. Most likely will step up to the next springs by the end of year, just need to talk to Mike Dobinsons Mike soon and get some ordered.

In your opinion out of the 2,which seemed to support the weight better?

With your problem, I see, your MTs are rated 300 and hitting bumps too much for your liking. Going higher on number is just going to lessen the body to come down to a certain point. Sound to me, you would need more of a rate coil that you like in poundage but taller, more lift.

I could wait, just refrain from inviting me to do any more runs with you with what I got.
Snapping my home made extended links not going to hold my coils in, LOL.
The other side was bent also. Just removed my bar permanently and just going taller springs now.
Do the gen5 need the driver spacer for leans also?

I am planning to install the C59-675V and do a fair amount of towing with a trailer loaded between 2-4k lbs. Anybody with the C59-675V rear spring have experience towing with them?

I'm trying to decide whether or not to add some airbags as well.
