Dobinsons Suspension - 4th Gen Options

I am ready to pull the trigger on a kit for my 2007 V6, and am looking for what you recommend. I don't do much in the way of off-road other than new England dirt roads and fields, no mud pits or rock crawling for me. I live in Massachusetts, and we have fairly strict lift laws, its either 2 inches over oem height, or its based on a formula that would allow me 3". I want to level my truck but not so much that I need new UCA's, so maybe 2.5 front, 1.75 rear. its bone stock truck, and I don't plan on any heavy front bumpers, winches etc. etc. Ill decide tire size based on clearance after lift( and getting an inspection sticker so as not to antagonize the inspector).

Responce from Dobinsons

I emailed Mike figuring he hadn't seen my post, and he responded, suggesting the following.
C59-302-front 2.5" lift coils
GS59-221-front struts
C59-505-rear 1.5" coil
GS59-705-rear shocks, comfort valved for empty/light loads

While UCA's aren't needed, I will probably get them as well. I am replacing my axle while its apart too.

I'm intrigued by this brand. It sounds like a setup purpose built for our rigs.

But I have never heard of them until this website and everyone has heard of Bilsteins.
Why should I choose to go out on a limb and try these Dobinsons and forgo the safe alternative of Bilsteins?

I have their lift springs on mine. It's 2.5 front and 1 inch in the rear. Giving me a level look in terms of fender gap. I took a chance because of the price I bought from another member. It's matched up with 5100 with the front set at 0. They ride really well. Soaks up bump and cornering is more neutral. I can't speak for their branded shocks since I don't have it. My previous set up was 5100 set at .85 on Tacoma springs which gave me close to 2.5 in lift and 1.5 spacers on FJ springs. I call it the Frankenstein set up. I took every bit of pieces of information on here and tried it out. It rode like crap. Borderline dangerous because it was stiff. If you hit a bump on the freeway it would want to leap across. I drove like that for over a year because I couldn't make up my mind on which springs. The only con to these springs is the god damn color. The color is green/teal. It stands out like an odd ball. LoL

I like the color! I think it's cool

I just received my springs yesterday, I went with stock height, going to put them on 5100's at 0" lift this weekend. Good chance the old springs are saggy so I'll get a slight lift just by putting in freshies'.

I love the color too! Plus, Mike is a steely eyed missile man. He’s super helpful and really knowledgeable about 4runners. My springs shipped really fast and installed beautifully. They are so much nicer than stock springs. I’ll post up my results with 599 rear springs soon.

Just finished an 11 hour install. New 5100's all the way around with Dobinson stock height springs. It definitley gave me an inch or two because my old springs were the original so they were saggy-baggy.

I repaired a damaged brake line (my fault) from when I did the brakes too so it was a full day. I also replaced my front swaybar links since they were leaking..

Anyone with 300 or 302 front springs care to post a hub Center-to-fender measurement? Preferably 2006+ V6 but I’ll take anything.

My front has a Daystar leveling and rear has 599. The 599 took my rear up 2” from stock (my springs must have sagged like crazy). I have no idea how much lift from my current setup a 300/302 setup would give me and I’d like to figure that out.

Mine are being installed Wenesday, I'll post pictures and measurements as soon as I can. I have a stock 2007 V6, and I sit on 19" hub to fender on the front right and 21" on the right rear before. I am thinking of 255/75/17 tires on stock rims, unless someone can give a valid reason not to.

I'm not sure what you mean? Dobinsons doesn't sell struts..

He means the shocks. They are much nicer than the bilsteins IMHO. I've had them installed for over a year now.

Ah, well I asked Mike if he sold the Bilsteins and he said no. I didn't know they made their own. The ride is great with the Bilsteins, I'm happy with it.
