Dobinsons Suspension - 4th Gen Options

Are the C59-675V rears pretty limited to only stock weights? Im going to be installing my ADS coilovers and shocks from my Taco on my 03, going try and keep the lift around 2-2.5 all around. We pull a small camper from time to time, and have a kayak on the roof pretty often, but I dont plan on a rear bumper any time soon. Not to concerned with sag when towing the camper as we use a wdh.

They can carry weight whenever needed, but just aren't suggested for constant weight. When you load up for a trip, or tow, or whatever you'd normally do with your vehicle, these are good. If you change the overall weight of the vehicle, then the lift height and ride will change, so we have different rated coils to suit whatever that constant weight is.

I recently installed the C59-675V in my 4th gen v8 that I got from rpm off road garage, and it gave me the ride height I wanted and rides amazing. I still need to get rid of the driver side lean though

Just received these photos from a local customer [MENTION=144930]Prestige458[/MENTION] that I've been working with for a few weeks to get his 2006 4th Gen 2WD SR5 V6 lifted to exactly the stance he wanted. The 2WD does use different front coils, so we had to look at some coil options and do some math to get him to the correct height. "As close to level as possible" was his desire, and here's what we got for him.

Part numbers:
C59-134 front coils
GS59-221 front struts
C59-599 rear coils
GS59-705 rear shocks

Resulting in 2.5" front and 1.0" rear.

Interesting. So the 2.5" is partially from 2wd coils being shorter and partially from stock coils sagging? Do you happen to know the difference between 2wd and 4wd coils? I believe the ride height difference is 1" on the 3rd gens, but I didn't even know there was a difference on the 4th gen.

I believe it's also 1" difference on 4th gens. 5th gens have a 1" difference between 2WD and 4WD, we measured some at the dealer a few weeks back.

Yeah, the 1" original height difference plus less weight without the extra gear for the 4WD system.

I had to move my inner fender forward because it would touch when steering was fully locked.

Thanks to Mike for all the help with my setup, I just placed my order earlier this morning can't wait to get my hand on the kit and do the install.

Here's what's my set up will be.

Front Springs:
C59-302 - V8 - Stock front end load, 2" lift. 395/395mm, 17mm wire, 586LB

Rear Springs:
C59-325 - Stock rear end load, 1.75" to 2.0" lift. , 220lbs

Front Strut Options:
GS59-220 - Twin Tube, fixed mount (not adjustable), long travel, adds 1" lift

Rear Shock Options:
GS59-637 - Twin Tube, suits 0-2" lift, medium to heavy loads

Front Optional Install Parts ($80.00):
SC59-001 - Pair Front Strut Caps

Coil Spring Color:
Teal - Dobinsons classic color

Rear Optional Install Parts:
Nothing else, thanks

Since my lift is considered a 2.5in lift I didn't need to change my control arms. Alignment came out perfect

I was in the same boat as you are. I just emailed Mike and let him know what my current truck setup was and what my possible load weights are when I take a trip. I chose the options of their site and confirmed with Mike. He made his suggestions for what I should be running, boom... Done deal. He was very responsive and extremely helpful.

Most of the time, a linear rate coil is going to be most ideal, because it's predictable in how it will act, how much weight it can support, and ride quality. Most guys go for progressive coils if they want the longer travel, as the coils will stay in their pocket at full down travel.

fender height

Is there anyone running Dobinsons suspension on a 4wd v6 and pretty close to stock weight that wouldn't mind sharing their ground to fender or hub to fender measurements? I have a 2wd v8 that weighs very close to a 4wd v6, and I'm trying to decide between a 3/2" lift or 2.5/1.5". Tire size and which Dobinsons parts you have would also be helpful. Thanks y'all

Hey bud,

Since 4th Gens seem to be more prone to leaning than 5th gen's, we recommend 1/4" front top mount spacer on the driver's side. On the rear, you can buy the C59-725 rear offset height coils, and put the taller on the driver's side as well. Those are made for 5th Gen's with KDSS, and are basically the same as C59-325, but with one coil being 15mm taller than the other side to correct for a lean.

Finally getting to posting picture of my before and after, in the excitement of installing I forgot to take measurements or install step images, I'm extremely happy with the end result and the feel of my setup.
