Dobinsons Suspension - 4th Gen Options

I've been wanting to make this video for a really long time, as I end up explaining it over the phone or by email all the time.
Hopefully this helps someone out when they have questions about strut assembly.

The Xreas was tired so i removed it and replaced it with the following:

C59-300 front 2" coils
GS59-221 front struts
C59-505 1.5" rear coils
GS59-705 rear shocks

Thanks Mike! I really like the stance and the improved handling.

This is my third week since installing the lift (C59-314 / GS59-221 F, C59-505 / GS59-705 R). Seems great so far except there seems to be some harshness over things like speed bumps in the front. These came pre-assembled. Is there anything I can troubleshoot?

Struts look right.

Are the UCA's greased properly? And were they tightened down while the vehicle was on the ground under full vehicle weight?

If not, the bushings would be preloaded, causing harshness

Ok cool, was checking because the bushing doesn't look nearly as squished as other pics I've seen.

UCAs are nice and greased, wiped em all up each week as they started to seep. I could try tightening again - I think it was in the air iirc. I'm assuming you mean the UCA bushings? I also recently did my LCAs too shortly after the lift (frozen arms/bolts).

Now to find those UCA torque specs...

If Dobinsons assembled the struts, then they are correct. They look right to me.

The UCA bushings where the big long bolt goes thru. They need to be torqued on the ground.

Hmmm....the instructions on my UCAs had me torque them while off the ground and grease afterwards.

I can still try the UCA bolt (if I can get the torque wrench in there) - I'm pretty sure my new LCA cam bolts were loosened/re-tightened during the alignment (full weight on the rack) so that probably isn't it. Think it could be the sway bar?

Is there a Dobinsons torque spec to the top nuts? They look all the way down and I've checked everything else - even took the sway bar off which helped a bit with the harsh rebound feel over speed bumps/steps. Maybe that's just the higher spring rate and I'm not used to it - that honestly might be it lol.

I'm looking for some more lift and flex. Right now, I have 5100s all the way around, front set to 2.5". I have a 2" spacer on the rear stock springs. I would love to have an extra inch in the front and an extra inch in the back and the Dobinsons have caught my eye. I do not carry any load as of now however sliders and skids are in the near future. Any recommendations?

Sure I can make a suggestion.

What engine do you have?

And are you talking about 1" taller than it is right now? It might be sagged since you're still using stock springs. Or a 3.5" front lift and a 3" rear lift with stock weight?

V8. And I was hoping for 3.5 in the front and 3 in the rear.

Me again. So, turns out that I will be getting the Coastal Offroad bumper as well as a winch. What front and rear combination of coils should I get for 3" in the front and 2.5" in the back? I have 5100s and a V8.

C59-354 set to the first clip up front, and C59-675V in the rear would get you going.
 
What is the expected average life of the MRA’s before a rebuild is required? (I know this is rather subjective, just a ballpark...)

Is this something that we can do ourselves? How much is the kit?

If we need to send them in... where to and what is the turn around?

And what is the coupon code for 20% off if I buy the whole kit and kaboodle from you guys?
