Dobinsons Suspension - 4th Gen Options

If I want it to look level should I go 1.5 in the rear?
2" front and 1" rear would leave about 1" of rake, that's a pretty common rake setup that looks mostly level.

Level-level would be 2" front and 0 lift in the rear removing all rake, but I don't suggest that. Leaving 1" is a good idea.

C59-725

Read a couple mentions about the C59-725 5th Gen rear springs that can correct for driver's side lean on the 4th Gen. Can Mike or anyone else provide a little more info on these springs? I'm thinking tech specs as well as expected lift? I have an '06 w/ V6 engine.

EDIT: After reading a little further, found info in the following post: https://www.toyota-4runner.org/2768121-post83.html
Maybe it would help to add these options to the first page with the other springs?

Looks like the C59-723, -725, and -727 are all offset spring options to correct for lean. So what's the better option - installing the regular springs + spacer, or use the offset spring options?

I removed them all from the regular listings a few months ago because they're almost always not in stock, and Dobinsons made the 15mm spacer specifically to use any rear coils and offset them as needed. Plus they were only made in teal, and people can be super picky about colors they add to their car.

All the coils in post 1 can be used on any vehicle with or without a lean, and a spacer can be added to correct a lean if necessary.

Between phone and email I asked Mike a ton of questions. He was very helpful. I never liked the ride with the FJ Springs and 5100's so I'm very hopeful that the Dobinsons kit is much better. I went with 2" front and rear so I'll share some pictures once it is completed.

hi i have a 03 limited with the Xreas and airbag system.

My vehicle is starting to feel like a rollercoaster ride and it seems to be bottoming out when i drive over speed bumps or pot holes.

I don't do any offroading and it is a family vehicle. We do the occasional camping trips but nothing serious.

What do you think is my best option. Looking for a more levelled look and a slight lift. Also there much advantage with levelling the vehicle?

I like the leveled look but after talking to Mike I decided to leave the rake. I tow frequently and often have a lot of weight in the rear. So if my 4Runner is level it would squat with weight in the rear.

If you don’t tow or carry weight often it shouldn’t matter as much if you level the vehicle.

My kit comes on Tuesday and I’m hoping to install it by Thursday. I can offer up my opinion soon but I have had a hard time finding any negative reviews on Dobinsons.

Finally installed wheels, tires and lift. I went with the C59-302 and C59-505 on bilstein 5100's. Tires are 265/70r17. Fronts are roughly 22.5", drivers rear is 22.5" and passenger rear is a little over 23". Im really surprised with the difference from my daystar 2" front leveling kit. Fronts were at 20.5". I even measured each assembly prior to install and they were exactly the same length. I kind of think I shouldve went with the C59-300 and C59-599, but Im very happy with the ride quality.

Ebolavirus6 sure everyone has a different opinion and yours is ultimately what matters but....I think it looks great with the 302/505 combo!

You could do 2" in the front and 1" or 1.5" in the rear to help level it out. With the airbag conversion, I'd suggest 1" in the rear since the conversion kit adds about 1/2" of height.

Is yours a V6 or V8?

Cool man, I think that setup we sent out will work really well for you!!

Mine's a V8.
with the conversion quit im guessing the whole airbag system would be deleted?

I wanted something similar and went with the following set up on my 2004 4WD V8 to give me about 1.5-2” lift with a slight rake. Also added a driver side spacer which got rid of the lean.

Front Springs:
C59-300 - V6 - Stock front end load, 2" lift. 385/385mm, 17mm wire, 586LB
Rear Springs:
C59-599 - Stock rear end, 0.75" to 1.0" lift
Front Strut Options:
GS59-221 - Twin Tube, fixed mount (not adjustable), suits 0-2.5" lift
Rear Shock Options:
GS59-705 - Twin Tube, suits 0-2.5" lift, softer valving for empty rear ends.

314 vs 354

I called Dobinsons yesterday morning to try and figure out what springs I need to order because the descriptions on their website and a lot of others are very confusing.

I have an 04 Limited V6 4WD. I'm currently running FJ coils and 5100's all the way around with the front set at 1.75". The rear is setup with the Daystar 1.5" rear spacers. The lift is about perfect and I want maintain the height. I am adding the Victory 4X4 Blitz bumper and their skid system when I install the new UCA's, LCA's, and springs. The armor comes out to be about 165-170lbs in addition load.

That being said... I want to get the same amount of lift (or as close as possible) from the springs and be able to move the 5100's back down to 0 and get rid of the rear spacers.

The man I spoke with at Dobinsons told me to order the C59-314's and set me 5100's on the second perch and 325's for the rear to maintain the current lift height. The rear springs seem to be what I would need and makes sense. BUT after looking into this further... It sounds to me like the 354's would better suit me as I'm looking to keep 3" of lift without raising the ride height on the struts. I have a V6 and that's what they are rated for.

Wouldn't the 314's be a much stiffer ride since they are more for the V8 with 110-220lbs load?

Any help with further understanding this would be greatly appreciated. I really want to pull the trigger and get this project started.

So you only want 1.75" in the front? Use 314's at the lowest clip height and you'll end up with near 2.5". C59-302 would be the closest to the current lift height you have, assuming it's a true 1.75" lift you've got. 354's aren't for you, they're too heavy and too tall and you don't want to be at 3" lift.

Look at post #1 of this thread.

All coils can go on a V6 or a V8, but they lift different heights, as listed in post #1

I apologize for not being as clear as I should have been. With the FJ Coils and 5100's on 1.75'... I am at 3" of lift. Maybe a little more. I like the height and I want the 3" of lift with an additional 170+lbs constant load (new bumper and skid plates).

Oh, ok. That makes more sense. What they suggested would be ideal, 314's on the first clip up.

The 354's are for more than 200LBS of weight, as they're the stronger spring rate. You could run those at the lowest clip height, but I don't think you've got enough front end weight to warrant running those.

What are your measurements by Chance up front?
