It's always a good time.. until you break something ;) Last time out going up that same daniel trail, I managed to completely blow apart the front diff intermediate shaft and housing. It was then that I realized just how heavy my rig is. May need to slim up a bit or just stick to more overlanding vs rock crawling. :guitar2:

Are Dobinson rear springs good about sitting level without the need for a spacer? I have All Pro 3” springs and a 1” spacer on the driver side to account for the lean. Still have C59-505s in my cart but just want to make sure they are going to do exactly what I want :)

That lean all depends on the vehicle. The older and more miles they get, the worse they lean (from frame twist over time).

The C59-505 are the same height on both sides, so if you currently need a spacer, you'll most likely need it with these as well.
 
Speaking of leaning, I've noticed on the 701v rear springs, my driver side rear is about a half inch shorter than the passenger side, should I get a spacer for the driver side to even it out?

Sure, if you'd like. It's only a visual thing with a lean, it doesn't affect performance. I know taking out a coil isn't very easy on a 701V, so maybe buy a spacer and have it around to add when you're bored this winter! haha
 
Since I just got the 749s, I'll see how the lift looks, and if I still have a lean, guess I won't really mess with it, because i'm sure it'll be a lot of fun fitting the 749s in lol.

my set had some major driver lean about an inch on my 4th gen. So when I moved the coils over to my FJ, I added a 1/2" cornfed spacer and it dialed out any lean I would have had.

I don't have a shot of the rear but this is how the driver side looked like on my former 4th gen. I have the 677v rear coils, i should have stuck with the 701v at the time. My rear end sags with 300-400lb loads.

Question with IMS

About to pull the trigger and order myself the IMS fit for my 03 4runner v8 ltd.
I use the vehicle as a family vehicle - 90% on road (city /hwy) and 10% back country / camp sites.

I'm mainly looking for comfort and hoping to achieve a 2-2.5" lift all around.

Just want to confirm that i will need the following parts?:
IMS fit for front and rear
C59-302 Front coils
C59-325 rear coils
Dobinsons Lexus Airbag Conversion Kit
Will i need anything else?

ALSO, can somebody confirm that since i'm looking for a 2-2.5" lift with these IMS kits.. all i have to do is to set the collar to the lowest part (213mm).. BUT if decide to change my mind and want a 3" lift and use the same springs all i have to do is move the collar up - But this will preload the springs and I will have a harsher ride.
With the C59-302 at the lowest setting i will get a 2" lift minimum without any preload?

Hey man. Yes those parts are correct. 2" front and rear with stock weight. Yes. 213mm coil seat height adds no extra preload but you can add more lift later by raising the coil seat. It's not much preload to get 3" of front lift, just 13mm of preload.
The lower the lift height, the better the ride quality is.

No other parts are required with a 2" lift but extended rear sway bar links are recommend.

Finally! Read all the pages. Forgot i had an account here. Pretty consistent info with your emails Mike@Dobinson. Anyway I’ve made my decision and getting the IMS. Just waiting on it to be back in stock. Don’t need it till summer so don’t mind waiting for the stock. Hopefully a sale pops up in mean time ;)

Already been lifted ~3" for a while and the Icons seem to have run their course. Wanting to replace all springs and shocks.

Calculating my constant, over stock, additional weight was a sobering event. Figure I've got a little over 900# extra across the entire truck before additional camping gear, food or people. Splitting front to rear at the transfer case, it's about 350# in the front and 570# in the rear.

Full steel front and rear bumpers with spare on a swing
Full armor steel skids pkg (including fuel tank) and steel rock sliders
Dual AGM battery
Winch w/ syn line
Iceco 60L fridge on slide
Full length Prinsu roof rack w/ RTT
Truck tool kit, Recovery gear kit, etc (in bags, no drawers)

I already have LT rear arms, extended rear sway links, F&R bumps and brake lines, and Total Chaos UCAs.

Please check the following parts list:
Front: C59-354 riding on MRA59-A220
Rear: C59-701V dampened by MRA59-A575

So I'm near the top end of the daily use for 701V rear coils but not quite up to the monster 749Vs.

I tow a small camp trailer frequently and use Firestone air bags to offset that extra tongue weight currently, plan to continue that practice (18-20psi when towing and around 5-10psi daily without loads).

Couple questions:
1) If you guys assemble the fronts, what ride height could be expected? Any data I can provide to help the team there during the assembly?
2) I've got the front sway bar removed. Can the MRA's adjustability help remove some of that tipping? Increase compression for on road and lower it when off road?
3) I didn't see any front or rear shock resi mounts in the kit selection menus? Does it come with those or are they separate elsewhere on the website?
4) Lastly, what's your inventory looking like right now?

Hey bud, it looks like the info we put out there has paid off. The part numbers you selected are correct.

Up front, we would set the MRA59-A220 to 226mm and with the 354's and the weight you've got, it would be at about 3" of lift. Then you'd have to fine tune the lift height if you need more or less.

The rear should also be about 3" with the weight you've got.

The resi mounts are included with the struts and shocks.

Hard to say about the sway bar, as nothing can really supplement it not being on there, but you can definitely firm up the shocks and feel a considerable difference when you do.

That's all in stock currently, just go to Exit Offroad are the Dobinsons Suspension Experts in the USA and punch those part numbers in the search box. That's the quickest way to get to them!!

Sounds like a pretty cool build already. Throw up some photos!!
 
Also, Dobinsons just announced today that the IMS59-50705 rear shocks have been discontinued and replaced by the IMS59-50701 shocks. They have been re-valved for better all around performance and reducing the amount of parts to have to stock and keep track of. Anyone with any backorders of IMS59-50705 will be sent the new version IMS59-50701 shocks when they arrive in another week or so.
 
I need help like many others with Springs setup with my Radflo 2.5"
I just recently got them rebuilt, but I want to replace the springs front and rear. They have well over 100k on the springs itself. the fronts are 700lbs and the rears no clue. I have future plans of getting steel front and rear bumpers, with winch on the front. I tow 5k lbs or so with the 4runner. I also, love running fast on trails. Recommendations?
