Does 2.5 equal 2.5????

I currently have the Daystar 2.5/1.5 kit on my 2010 LE with TE 17" wheels. It looks fine and probably suits my needs fine but you chuckleheads have me wanting more. The most reasonable next step seems to be what [MENTION=84527]FatTiresRollin[/MENTION] has, which is Bilsteins, upgraded rear coils, and LR UCAs. That can all be done for around $1000 in parts.

My question is....will I get more front lift out of Bilsteins at 2.5" than my Daystar 2.5" spacer? I ask because my 275 MTRs rub slightly at full lock. My 275 BFG ATs did not and I could always go back to them. And, yes, I could always do the liner mod. But I'm really looking for an excuse to upgrade to a better suspension. The TJM kit is attractive as well, as it seems that most coilovers provide a slightly higher lift than what they advertise. I've also considered OME with or without UCAs. I don't rock crawl. My stock LE would have gotten me to most of my off the beaten path fishing holes. But that's just boring.

If you want better quality, the billies will give it to you. Mine are set at 1.75 and that's about what I got, so 2.5 should = 2.5 if you actually got 2.5 with the spacers. It won't give you more than 2.5 by itself though. But I can speak from experience that the ride is way better than stock and the nosedive is all but gone.

That's kind of how I got there. I was thinking spacers but so many people said go with the bilsteins. I happened to find a good deal on them and went for it. I am so glad I did. It tightened the ride up in all the right places but is still a smooth ride in all the right places too. No more nosedive when braking. I can't even describe the suspension as "stiffer", because it's not a "oh now, now I feel every bump" type of thing.

Check out the Pavement Princess build thread. I like the direction he went with the toytec disassembled ultimate coilover upfront, bilsteins and a 1.5" spacer in the rear. Gives you the ability to dial in just the right amount of lift up front and keeps the cost down somewhat. You could always put in a SAW or toytec coil in the rear later too.

I agree with you on the stated amounts of lift. It seems like with just the spacers or the bilsteins, you get basically what they say you are supposed to get. With OME or toytec ultimate, you get more..

Thanks guys. Stifler.... I got a new alignment at a different shop when I got the MTRs and have had no problems since. Tracks fine and feels solid. I'm actually really happy with everything right now, but just as you guys said, this site has me wanting more. Ultra gauntlets. Coilovers. UCAs. I've become T4R obsessed.
