DON'T DO IT! I got those and returned them immediately. First off, I had a hard time installing them. Nothing fits like a genuine Toyota part. Once they were in, the lights were garbage! They were not nearly as bright as the Toyota lights. I returned them and bought the genuine Toyota lights and they are way better. Yes, it's another $100 per set, but it's definitely worth it.

I bought mine from those guys when they had some on ebay. I checked my history and the listing stated OEM 2006 - 2009 Toyota 4Runner Tail Light and I believe the text said something similar about 'original dealer item.' The ones I received came in Toyota Boxes just like you'd get from the dealer. They had weird pricing when I purchased mine. The left side was $58 and the right side was $92. Fit perfectly but that makes sense since they were Toyota branded.

I can tell you on the 09 taco led tails TYC does make them. We had to replace one on a company truck after being backed into and from the dealer in a Toyota box was a TYC light..

I bought a rear tail light for my 4runner several years ago. It was after market. The light was a PERFECT match. The light assembly was EXACTLY the same as the OEM light. The company sells lights from the company that makes them for Toyota. The only difference was the price....The after market was less then half the price.

I put some photos of the Toyota boxes in this nearly identical thread running simultaneously.

My theory is that Toyota dumped a bunch of OEM parts when the new models came out with different tail lights. They probably have some type of inventory level they keep based on the age of the vehicle and whether or not they are still being used. There was a recent glut of them on eBay from a few different vendors.

Bottom line, buy parts at your own risk. There have been several members on the site have been burned by buying what they thought were OEM parts, or just ignored the fact they weren't OEM parts.
