Does anybody use Carista?

I ended buying a BAFX WiFi OBDii and paid the one week $10 for Carista.
Set my windows to open with the key fob. Sunroof rolls back after the rear passenger windows are down. Wish the back window opened instead of sunroof. Also set windows to open and close with key in door. Turned off the seatbelt chimes and changed my rear wiper intermittent interval from 3 to 5 seconds. In case anybody is wondering, the windows down with key fob does not mess up the crappy oem remote start.
I think I’m gonna get one of the engine monitoring apps and I can watch the change in air flow over the MAF sensor after putting in a TRD air filter and if there’s any change after exhaust changes

For those looking to change settings and not do any real time monitoring tech stream is worth considering. I was on the fence between it and cariata and decided the extra Toyota functionality may be worth it down the road. So I bought a cable and the v12 software off eBay for $35 and figured if it didn’t work out my kids could still go to college. Well. I got the package yesterday and set up was pretty easy. Granted I am familiar with windows but nothing I had to do was rocket science. I watched the included video, read both read me files and then followed the directions. 15 minutes after opening the package I was in the car changing settings. Banished the eco bar and seat belt chime, said good bye to the auto lock and unlock from park, added window up and down features for the key and fob, changed some wiper intervals and then called it a day. All in was 20 min from start to finish. Much happier with the car now and the time/money saved not going to the dealer. Only regret is waiting a year into ownership to do it. If anyone is in Sacramento and wants to make some changes, pm me. Happy to meet up when schedules allow and do it for free.

Just did this with a $10 bluetooth OBDii scanner from Amazon, one of the small blue ones. No connectivity issues at all. Carista has a 7 day free trial on the 1-year subscription right now, which you can cancel at any time.
Changed the following:
seat belt chime off both front seats
beep turned off for locking and unlocking with the key fob
ECO bar off (ECO light can be turned off without this)
4 door windows down with fob, and up/down with key in the door (I don't have a sunroof, and the back window didn't work with this on mine)
Anyone have any ideas on the seat belt light?

I bought a $20 OBDII adapter from Ebay and it only worked for half of the options in Carista even though it claimed to meet all ELM 327 standards. I guess it's hit or miss which ones will work if you're not willing to fork out the $40 for the one they recommend. I returned it but haven't bought another one to try out.

I would say win7 32 bit (I bet with compatibility settings will run on win10) since it is running on older panasonic toughbooks, which in 2009 were spec the generation release, purely empirical, but most logical.

I am running it on an older laptop with Win 7 64. It says it will work with Win 10 too.

Here's a question for everyone to laugh at :noidea:
I have a '13 LTD and am purchasing the both a BT ODBII (and try the trial of Carista) and the cable + Techstream. I'll return whichever I find less helpful. I do have a laptop that can run Techstream w/o issue. I want the smart key functionality for the windows as well as the changing the other things that many have mentioned.
Here's my :noidea:....do all of the LE come with the remote start (I doubt that they do, but ya never know) and it's just a matter of activating it with the software or does the module/hardware have to be installed?

FYI - saw this in the amazon description:
Attention: we have tested this product compatible windows XP and windows 7 32bit, it not support windows 10 or 8.
so make sure you know your OS before ordering. I can confirm the software package I installed runs fine on 64 bit Win 7.

Carista did not allow wiper change interval adjustment. I checked. It did everything else. Can you screenshot the wiper change interval screen and post here?

My 17' Offroad Premium required a multi hour install at the dealer for remote start. It's not worth it. Toyota remote start has a very short range. The remote start was the only thing that worked better on our previous Jeep. The Jeep Cherokee remote start range was very impressive. Consider 3rd party remote start for Toyota products.

Don't have a screen shot, but I was able to adjust my rear wiper interval (from 3 to 5 sec delay). you can also do something with the "extra wipe", but I did not adjust it. This is on a 2016 LE

Na, just followed the read me directions and it worked great. Nice find, never thought I would have techstream.
