whats the Mpg with the rack and awning? I just found an awning on cl cheap and want to mimick this install.

Honestly it's hard to say because I have so many variables on mine which bring the mpg down. When I first installed the rack on stock crossbars, which make it even sit higher, I didn't notice that much of a drop in mpg. Nothing noticeable, but loaded up with all my gear on top, it does take a hit. My tires are the biggest factor in bad mpg. I did make another thread with additional photos if you want to check it out. It's called "expensive full length roof rack". Made it a couple days ago.

Thx [MENTION=143467]Toy2play[/MENTION]. I am curious how you installed the arb awning on the stock crossbars. I am a few paychecks away from the roof rack but may want to just mount it to the stock crossbarz for a while. Any pics or pointers?

My apologies, I meant to say that I had the Curt rack installed on the stock crossbars before putting the rack on aluminum tubing like you see in the pictures. I've only installed the awning like you see in the pictures on the Curt rack. It's a very simple design, and all parts can be bought from home depot.
I thought I saw someone install an awning on the stock bars, but I can't recall where I saw it. I'll see if I can find it in tomorrow.
