Door speaker wiring question

Hey guys, I just recently finished installing nav/backup camera and my mono amp with sub. Everything went smoothly and I cannot be happier with the results. All I have left now is wiring up my 4 channel amp to power the door speakers.
My question is this, I had read in a post that I can splice into several wires and bypass the factory amp without having to wire the speakers. Doing so also does not eliminate the party mode apparently. I personally don't care about the party mode as I will have great sound regardless but the fact that I don't have to run wires all over is very appealing to me.

Is there any truth to this? I don't mind running the wires but would like to avoid doing so if I don't have to.

Not too sure what you meant by...

"By-pass the factory amp..."

Are you referring to the 'JBL subwoofer amp' that's in the cargo area, or the amp in the stock HU? If you meant the JBL sub, just defeat the amp by pulling the fuse; you won't need it. You can use the front and rear channel speaker outputs from the HU to feed your new amps, then tie the amp's 'speaker outs' into the wires leading to the speakers. However, you'll need to separate your inputs from your outputs, meaning that you have to cut those speaker wires if you're using them both as inputs (RCA feeds) to your new amps and outputs to the system speakers.

You can buy a "Metra harness adapter" kit to transition from your new head unit to the stock speaker harness connectors to make things a lot easier. As far as the party mode system... that system is (for the most part) a part of the truck's system wiring; not the head unit. So nothing changes because you've replaced the nav system! Hope this helps 'some' but I know that if you didn't have questions before, you'll have some now! Lol Rgds!

Depending on the wattage you're running, you'll probably get better sound quality running new wires to the door speakers.. Sure it's a PITA but the factory wires weren't designed to handle the higher wattage that aftermarket amps push. The factory wiring is pretty small guage wire.

I've always run new wires to the door speakers if I'm powering them with an amp. In addition, I'll also not connect the factory speaker wires on the new harness behind the radio either.

You're 100% correct! The stock speaker wires ARE NOT large enough to be used in "High Power" Amplifier/speaker applications; especially where "High power Subwoofers" are concerned! The OP was particularly vague regarding the equipment being installed.
