Going with a Rock Assault housing cut for an E-Locker.
-6 Shooter Knuckles/Arms
-30 Spline Birfs/Axles
-Chromo Spindles

-Hydro Assist Steering
-14" Travel King C/O's

All in all it should cost around 6k, I figure I will get close to 2k back on my IFS parts so not a crazy amount of money to spend!

Yea Tyler summed up the Windrock trip pretty well. I ended up on a trail I shouldn't have been on! But made it either way, a little bit of body damage to both quarter panels, broke both taillights, bent both lower links....hopefully some more pictures will show up soon enough.

Damage report from 4 day Windrock Trip
- Two ruined rear lower control arms
- Broken TrailGear Limiting Strap (Big surprise there)
- Burnt out headlight front going underwater
- Air filter ruined from going underwater
- Gas tank skid ruined
- E-locker motor needs rebuilt from filling with water
- Both taillights smashed
- Both rear quarter panels got some dents
- SCS wheels are pretty well scratched!


I think that is about it, the CBI and Budbuilts took some MAJOR hits but held up as expected. Those CBI side hoops paid for themselves BIG time.

All the pictures are up, that trail took a lot of energy out of us all...we just wanted out! No one took pictures till the end when we saw gravel, that brought some life into the bunch

As for my SAS, looks like it will be taking a different direction

I am going to do a Waggy 44, still with a 3 link suspension.
It will save me quite a bit of money, and I can upgrade along the way instead of having to front so much money in the beginning.

I already have the axle housing, picked it up for free at work! I am picking up the gears+bearings+ARB locker next week on pay day.

I will be running 4.88's so I will have to regear the rear end as well

A BIG step....picked up the Waggy 44 axle housing. Got a buddy to plasma off the mounts at work and dragged it home yesterday. Starting the tear down process, pretty much just going to be using the housing and spindles the rest is trash.

And again looks like we are taking a different direction. Instead of 3 linking, we will be trying a radius arm design. It won't be a ramp king, BUT, should prove to be much more stable on the street and better for a rig that lets me drive long distances back and forth. I don't want a BIG trail rig, I just want something I can take out and not worry about turning the wheel for fear of breaking a CV.

I will also be picking up $1400 worth of gears, bearings, axles, U-joint's, and ball joints tomorrow from work. Only $5k left to spend....:lol:

"no-likey" on the damage.
I guess not even the rear-quarter guard could save it.
I have some stock tail lights if you want/need them.

Those side hoops on the bumper saved my ass BIG time...without those the rear quarter panel would have been TOAST. They let me slide my way against the rock.

Thanks for the offer on the tail lights, but I am going to poney up the cash for the Ebay LED's

Props to you man - I enjoy hearing people with ideas of practicality, rather than "go big - go home!" mentality...

I'll be wanting to follow this for sure. I'm slowly in the back of my mind planning for the future SAS if/when my front diff blows out.
