Here's what I found real quick. It's a lonnng thread.

Ha ha you can skip to around page 20 to get to the coilover part. Tones of good info in that thread and Matt is an amazing fabricator. One of the sexiest 1ton Tacomas out there.

Also check out mossyrocks and some of booger welds builds as well. Booger welds is them an when it comes to links or coilovers, he really knows his stuff

yeah i've been following those guys' builds on pirate since in joined in 2004(and long before that) along with all the other "big timers" in the truck/runner section. i built my first sas'd toy off of all the info i soaked up over there. never done one or even seen one up close before(this was about 12-13 years ago). i was new to wheeling and only had my truck for about 3 months. just thought it looked sic so i tried it out.:shrug: i still do tons of research but don't post too much anymore. too much BS than there is tech anymore.

I have been on there since around 08. Watcheda ton of these build come together. Tons of tech for sure but also I will agree way too much BS as well. I haven't SAS'd yet but I know know a ton more about it now that I have religiously lived on there. The whole IFS thing was new to me as I came from a 95 jeep grand.

Downpour11 so your running 14" fronts and 12" rear. Just wondering your reason for this setup??? Seems like you could run a 14 in back too

No no no 12" up front and 14" in the rear. It's going to be hard to fit a 14 up front because I'd have to relocate everything hugging the fender under the hood. Maybe down the road I'll get crazy but right now, this is going to work.

Yup lol I don't think I'll need to relocate anything, but you never know til you get in there.

It's already done and setup on the front axle I bought I'm not using a hydro assist or anything. Just an IFS box and a High-Steer setup and the Reid Knuckles. I'll have guidance moving it all over since I'm new to all this. The Tie Rod and Draglink were custom built and already installed. I'll get you pics when I move it over though.

Yup that's already done, I just have to move it over LOL It cracks me up because my buddy who I bought the axles and steering setup etc from was literally almost done with his build when he decided to switch to dana 60/14 bolt. The only stuff that was left to do on his truck was the rear linkage and the gas tank relocation. So he's basically starting all over. Though, he's running 39.5's so it is a wiser choice to go with the 60/14... but still. I got so lucky. His truck is going to be badass though when it's done.

I'm gonna have to find a spot for the reservoir! LOL it's friggin huge. But I will find a place for it.

Alright - build has started.

Today, we got the entire front IFS out and did a bit of grinding. Didn't get a pic of the frame all done, I will tomorrow.

The underside of my truck was absolutely disgusting. We decided not to use the torch so the truck wouldn't catch fire LOL. Ended up using a saw.

Pic of the front IFS mostly disassembled, power steering drained, brake lines and powersteering lines out of the way, front driveshaft removed, ABS removed. Ready for cutting.

Mmmmmmmmm no.

Here we go.

Remove rear axle
Swap Oil Pan
More grinding
Hang front axle and get link brackets ready
Maybe more, maybe less.
