DOWNPOUR11's Build Thread

it's all about sacrifice! just do it man. go through the floor and get it done. then tell the wife you need to build yourself badass trailer like dirtco's!!! you know you want to.:D

Ha! Wife! Ha! You are funny! All I can find nowadays are girls too into rap culture and cheating on their boyfriends/husbands. Youth of tomorrow... youth of tomorrow, I keep saying...

I choose to detach. :D One day, I'll find one I can trust and who's actually faithful. Until then, I'll focus on my future and my hobbies.... er... hobby.

If I have to go through the floor... I will. But I really don't want to :moping:

I love sleeping in my truck hahah it's so easy and comfortable.

Well here is another good buil up by the way. He did a similar swap that you are doing.

My new trail/street rig build- '97 4runner - Pirate4x4.Com : 4x4 and Off-Road Forum

Oh here is the link for the Sky's manufacturing kit:

My new trail/street rig build- '97 4runner - Pirate4x4.Com : 4x4 and Off-Road Forum

This one is made for the 3.4l

Thanks man, yeah I've read ErikB's build prob 10 times which is still not enough because I keep going back to it haha I always miss something.

I ordered the TG oil pan kit so it'll be here by the end of the week and I'll get it installed with the quickness.

What sucks is hunt4steve took his build off the internet or something? All his info is gone. I used to read through his build years ago! and it's all gone! :(

Here's one of my favorites I just came across. Not sure how I never saw it a long time ago:

Wow..lot's of good stuff goin on in this build as of late...from the wheeling photos to the new and much anticipated SAS conversion...I wonder why this thread hasn't received any rating...so for that reason,,I voted 5 stars.

.......Oh and on 37's...Sweeet!

Haha thanks man. Those 37's aren't mine in the pics, they were just in the shop so I rolled them under the truck to drool for a moment. I'll be running the 35's which will work fine for a while. 37's in the future though for sure!

YOU deserve it! Ha! atleast now you have a reason to wear out those nice Iroks all the more lol..On a more serious note.....can't wait to see it all buttoned up so get movin' dude!

Another good read. Saw TG just came out with a front link kit... very tempting.. looking forward to seeing your wheeling pics.

Thank's guys!

Sam - If I were to buy a link kit, I'd buy the 4wheelunderground kit any day over the TG kit. An Off Road Suspension Company

Absolutely. If I had followed through with my 1 ton swap, Brian would have been my go to guy for the kit no doubt. He was working with me to get a time scheduled to get the work done on the runner then plans changed.

Has he made a kit for the 3rd gen runner yet? I know he was going to use my runner as the donor to figure out the new frame side mounts but he was buried in other builds for quite a ways out.

No not yet. If I had bought one, I'd grab the taco kit and have a fabricator help me tweak it to work. I don't know all that would be involved though, so it's easier said than done lol. But hey, if he still hasn't done one down the road, your's can still be the donor!

A) Holy sh!t you're cruising through this and it's making me sad becasue you're gonna be finished before I even get my top-shift conversion kit

B) you should have asked me about the T100 pan dude I have the complete list of parts needed AND I get OEM parts dirt cheap

C) Maybe AddictedOffroad can steer us in the right direction concerning getting the speedometer to work?

damnitttt, yeah I should have done more due diligence on the oil pan thing, but whatever. The TG kit will be here tomorrow and I'll mount it up real quick and be done with it.

I haven't done any more reading into the speedo issue yet. I'll wait on it til the truck is rolling or maybe this weekend I'll try and find something. Unless Scotty posts with the resolution lol.

Today wasn't too productive. My friend who's welding everything up had a mini emergency with his dog this morning so we had a BBQ outside the shop and ended up getting to work around 2ish.

The front passenger side frame is done and plated. My friend is drilling and tapping an IFS box for me tonight, so we will mount that up and finish the drivers side frame plate tomorrow. The rear frame plates came in so we'll try and knock those out as well. We slid the axles under and mocked up the lower drivers side rear link to make sure it clears the gas tank.. We are golden, just enough room! The damn gas tanks hang so friggin low on these trucks. I might move it later on down the road (next year or something).

not sure if you thought of it yet, but I just want to point out before you find out the hard way that your wheels are 6-lug Toyota wheels and your axles are Jeep 5-lug :yo:
