DOWNPOUR11's Build Thread

Hahah yeah, speaking of which... I need to call this company to make sure they've shipped.

annnnd right as I'm typing this the oil pan shows up!

Got the oil pan in, filled it up with some Mobil 1 High Mileage Full Synthetic and bought a Wix oil filter.

Axles are set. I'm loving the stance. My friend who's helping me build the truck finished drilling and tapping my IFS box, we did some more cutting to fit it, then mocked it up with the frame plate. Going to drill the frame tomorrow and get the plate welded on.

I should also note, I'm helping my friend with his 4runner too, so the other day we were tearing down his dana 60. Today he found a 14 bolt so we tore that axle down too.

3 out of 4 wheels arrived today. Hoping the 4th comes in soon. Trying to get the truck rolling by next Friday.

I'll be running my 35's, but we are mocking everything up with 37's.

Done and done!!! Get to it! I can't wait man!

Lol! Don't say that too loud! The heepers might ask to borrow.

Hey downpour, it's looking good man! Keep it up.

The heepers aren't borrowing shit for shit! They can hang out in their own little short-wheelbase world.

jeep bolt pattern is 5x4.5 or 5x5 though. I'm using a ford pattern. The ford guys aren't borrowing crap either lol

Hell yeah Downpour! Your truck is looking good man!
It's been awhile since I've delved through your build thread, but it always impresses me!

I want some flex shots! Oh and do you think you'll easily be able to go from 37's to 35's without wanting the 37's that bad?
The MPG's would probably persuade you as well though. :)

Thanks Brian! Yeah, I'll be happy with my 35's. 37's will come soon enough, I'm patient :D

Drilled the frame for the steering box and mocked up links! Everything measures great! We are moving along right on schedule. My fabricator is making the rest of the brackets this weekend and we'll start putting em on Monday.... then the real links get mounted.

Wheel base is 106.75" We moved the front axle forward a good 3+" and I moved the rear axle back ~2". I thought stock wheelbase for these was 105"? I guess mine wasn't lol. Everything is coming along awesome, no hiccups. The steering is great, clearance is great (we will be sure upon using the forklift). Tires will clear the links up front too!

Man, definitely becoming a beast. Wish I could do something like this, I wouldn't be scared any more .LOL.

Great job your doing there Rob. Can't wait to see and even jump in with ya and LET'S DO THIS.

Thanks man - I thought you were pretty much done on yours besides the dialing in? Yours is rolling and driving right? What else do you have to do?

I have been driving it to work and one short trail ride but there is still a lot to do. The list goes on and on.

Rear bumper
T-case skid plate
Sliders
Manual hubs
Limit straps
Permanent rear lower links
Finish Center Differential wiring
Radiator protection
Recovery points
Replace tie rod ends
