You better take plenty of pictures! I've been debating tundra brakes and rear discs for a while and i've heard a bigger MC is extremely helpful. Haven't really seen many good writeups and lots of different info as to if it is a straight bolt on application or not.

It's pretty straight forward. You'll either need to make adapter plate or just cut the push rod. Also the lines into the MC need to be flared into the proper fittings. I'll take some pics to show you.

You might also consider a Tundra MC and booster to go with those tundra brakes. Might work better with those calipers than the GM 3/4 ton MC. But I'm no expert. I know driffter33 ran the 1-1/8" Blazer MC which is a 1/2 ton and said it helped. He also ran a residual for the rear brakes. Said it bolted up easy with pretty much no modification here. He also ditched the ABS.

Finished the 3/4 ton brake upgrade on Monday.

I bought a 1975 K20 3/4 ton master cylinder. 1 1/4" bore.
1/2" fitting for 3/16" hardline
9/16" fitting for 3/16" hardline

The 2-bolt pattern is slightly wider (about 1/4") than the toyota bolt pattern on the booster, so I wallowed out the mounting holes on the MC to fit the toyota booster.

You'll need to unscrew the push rod from the booster and cut it down to size so it is verrrry close but not touching the MC piston. The piston needs to be able to fully retract back into it's closed position.

Pretty straight forward job:

Pull the old master cylinder
Wallow out the mounting holes of the new one
Unscrew the push rod
cut the push rod
Bench bleed MC
Cut and reflare the two brake lines to the master with each fitting on the line
Plug it in
Bleed brakes

I had cut the threads down, but it's unnecessary. You need to cut the tip.

Cut this almost down to the hex, but make sure you don't cut too much off or you'll need a new push rod.

Went out to Calrocs yesterday and watched a ton of buggies compete. Lots of fun. My buddy and I had a vendor booth out there again which was nice.

Bad picture of our friend's truck (the buggy with the MTR stickies). He broke his output shaft and then picked up a sponsorship and the company is buying him a brand new Atlas 4speed.

This is the only pic I could get of this truck. One of the coolest buggies I've ever seen. On rockwells, linked with double bypass', coilovers, ridiculous engine, absolutely insane truck.

Well the 38's were going to take a few weeks to get here so I weighed the differences between a 38x14.5 and a 40x13.5….. and I ordered a set of 40's. Should be here next wednesday. Not wheeling til I get both axles trussed and the RCV's and 300m 30 spline hub gears installed.

We will see how my axles hold up. More incentive to build tons! lol

Well, I lied. Not going to do 40's right now. Bought the 37's. Going to sell or trade the Irok's for a Dana Kingpin 60 and start building it (instead of use the money for RCV's). Also going to pick up a 14 bolt in the next month or two. Ughhhh I love this hobby.

Just got back from Fort Bragg, my girlfriend caught a 21lb 34" pacific king salmon! I got seasick and puked the entire time, but I caught two Silvers, but had to throw them back… something about them being "endangered" lol Had a blast though.

Pretty much. He has his built solid. Mine will be similar. I'll see how creative I can get with it.

My friend with the black runner just has tons of money and doesn't really know what he has in his truck. He just knows it's good stuff lol. He just asked the question "what should I buy", so we told him.
