DOWNPOUR11's Build Thread

Lift looks great Rob:driving: it's coming along really nicely. Tires will make a world of difference. Can't wait:cool:

thanks man, yeah i need another bonus so I can get those tires sooner! I'm working on it... lol you need to get back on the forum more often dude! I'll call you and stop by when i get the tires on then we can go hit some trails.

when I get to 400k im starting the 400k club lol
i notice some have 200k club in their sigs
I'm thinking it will be an extremely small club...

Had 400k club on my sig over at NCTTORA for awhile before I sold my 88 this last spring... sold it with 417k miles on it and still kicking... minus the bad rear seal? Otherwise lift looks great.

So I've been comparing tire prices for a couple months now lol and have been set on the destination M/T's so I was preparing to spend like 1100 bucks after taxes for these tires. So now a light clicks on in my head to go to the firestone website and they have them for $208.99 a piece haha instead of tirerack for $230 and someone else for $254. good thing I haven't bought them yet. But at least now I know where to get them. :ybrick:

k so i put the 35's on today... destination m/ts on backorder so I went with some 315/75/16 baja mtz's on pro comp 8069's... pic's tomorrow morning... it was too dark tonight for pics i got home late. Cut off some plastic on the front bumper as well....

Ooooooooo yeeeeaaaah! When does the cutting begin?

Hahaha exactly, yes cutting begins tomorrow, though i did a little last night. I just cut off a piece of the plastic on the bumper so I could turn a little more and make it through the night lol. Now I gotta trim the actual bumper and hammer the pinch weld.

i cant wait to see how the 8069s look on your rig, thats what i'm grabbing for my rig.

Thanks, check em out. I'm posting pics right now...

Ok, so this is with 882's and 7.5 wraps.
I was going to put the 9 wraps and topouts on today but got busy with somethin else this morning. So hopefully I'll get it done tomorrow.
Also, gotta cut the front bumper and hammer the pinch weld for the meantime and I'll also probably take the rear bumper off

Looks killer man! 35's too?? From the first pic in your build thread to this one, it's big difference those wheels/tires make. When I was looking at the first pic, I thought those were Duratracs. The sidewall design is very similar.

What are you gonna do for center caps? Throw in the chrome ones that come w/the wheels? I saw you have them on the back, but not up front. I'm running the 8069's too and I picked up some black center caps from Wheeler's and they fit perfect. They don't stick out as far as the chrome ones either.

Thanks! Yeah it's a huge change from when I had the stock tires and wheels on. I must have gained 2 more inches in height just from the tires.

When I took it to discount tire and had them balanced and mounted they weren't able to fit the front center caps on, I personally don't care because I don't like chrome. I'll probably take the rear caps off too.
I'll look into those black caps, I would much rather have those.

That thing is sick. I really like the 8069's. It will look awesome with the 9 wraps in and I agree with BigFish about the black center caps. Good work and good luck with the trimming.

looks great dude... so how much rubbing are u having with the rear bumper on?

none at all, but when I get it off road its gonna rub on the flap. So I'm gonna ditch it till I get one fabbed.
The major issue is the pinch weld in the front... really need to hammer and possibly cut. I'm gonna wait to do it until I get the top out spacers and 9 wraps in, which was supposed to happen today, but my friend who was gonna help and give me a ride to the shop to get the coils re assembled couldn't do it today. So, next saturday.... dammit! I'll manage for the week... just cant turn too hard.

I'm jealous! Those are the exact tires I plan on getting next spring. I can't wait. I have even gone so far as to trim and hammer my pinchweld already.

They look great. Let us know how you like them.

Thanks Bandit, I'm hoping to get a good 40k out of these tires based on what I've read.

Just hammered the pinch weld, no more rubbing. Hammered in about a full inch. Also, my inner tire is not even 1/4" from the UCA and it only rubs at full lock. :D Very happy.

I'll be mall crawling for the rest of the month until I can regear and get some Tundra brakes. I'm gonna try and make an appointment to regear next week to 5.29's. You lose a lot of power with 35's.. I have the ECT on and the OD off and its chuggin along. But everything else feels great, I am very happy! Also might throw some 3/4" or 1" wheel spacers on.

And I stand corrected on how badly my speedometer is off now haha LINY you proved me wrong! My speedo is off by about 10mph.

Update. I ordered upper and lower ball joints today. They will be here Thursday and will be installed on Sat with my 9 wraps and top plates. More pics this weeeeked.

lol I'm hoping I've thought it all through for 35's.... new gears, ball joints, trimming, tubbing, what else... I'm spacing it.. my mind hurts from work today.
