Yes, It required cutting the plastic siding on the taillight that covers the bumpstop bolts. Even then it would be a very tight fit that could run when the hatch closed. I didn't look into it that much since the owner of the truck didn't want to cut anything, which I understand

Oh well, sh*t happens.. I'm against cutting into the molding. I'll have to ask for a refund as well.

So I got a PM saying that there wouldn't be any cutting into the molding.
So maybe, we can get a fresh explanation with maybe some photos of how the mounts will "mount" and fit on the 5th gens.

Hey sorry for the delay, just got outta work.
Our original design for the 5th gen was by the tail light and mounted off the bumpstop bolts, after looking at it more I realized that it wasn't possible to have it mount there without cutting the plastic moulding of the taillight. My solution was to move the Mount higher and attach it to the top Mount of the hatch strut, the same as the 4th Gen mounting. I know it's not the ideal position for some, but the are very stelth and only require a 1 or 2 foot antenna. I will be checking the best way to run the coax cable and making sure it will fit hopefully tomorrow

Since the design has completely changed and is not at all what was originally advertised I would also like a refund. This is a poor business plan having an incomplete design that you try and sell and then when it doesn't work try an completely change it.

Am I the only one that's still confused? In a message I received, I was told there is no cutting of the molding. The first photo in here depicts cutting of the tail molding.. Can we get some clarification around that?
To all the members that have prepaid for the product. Just treat this with respect. It's not that the guy isn't trying to make it work, they had some challenges, so what?! I'm in Project Management, and sh*t goes wrong ALLL The time. It's just what do you do when that happens? I have to agree for the most part. It was stated from the beginning that these prepaid orders were going towards the initial production of the mounts. The 3rd gen mounts were already established but the 4th and 5th gen mounts are being made from scratch. While we all wanted them to be like the 3rd gen mounts (myself included) without a proper plan to begin with, changes had to be made, and changes had to be expected going into this. If you want a refund then get your refund, otherwise sit back and enjoy the ride and let's see what we end up with.

I get why some folks are angry at this point and for good reason, they already made purchases based off the original design. I also have to agree with [MENTION=75328]DannyLlama[/MENTION], as a software developer we make design changes throughout the testing phase even if the clients like it or not.
For now, I will retract my request for a refund and will wait for the final design. I will base my decision on what the final design looks like to either accept it, for a discount, or to get a full refund.
One other thing, the original design was going to have the T4R logo on it. Will the new design still have this?
