Drive plate problem

I have rebuilt the auto trans recently. I had to remove the trans to replace a rear main oil seal and found the drive plate was cracked. I replaced the plate and every thing was working good. I have now developed a noise coming from the drive plate / torque converter area. I fear I may have installed the plate the wrong way round ? Can anybody advise the correct way round for the plate.

I can't answer that exactly, but if the starter isn't engaging the plate correctly it can cause problems.

This may not be relevant, but when I started out doing my own car mechanics some 40 years ago. I put a clutch plate in backwards. It didn't take me long to figure out I had made the mistake.
