Driver-Accessible Cooler Mount

I have been working on a solution to mount a small cooler in between the driver and passenger seat behind the console. I stole the idea from the TRD Baja chase 4Runner that someone posted in another thread. However, the TRD one appeared to be mounted through the floor board. I wanted to avoid punching holes in the floor, and also wanted to make it easily removeable so I can still lay the seats flat if needed. Here is what I came up with...

1"x 1" Square tube frame to lift it up 3 inches so the top of the cooler is above the height of the console and the back of the lid doesn't get bound up on the rear seat cushion

Cut some 1/16" sheet and tacked on the sides to complete the box. Also added some rubber bumpers with some rivnuts so I can adjust them for a secure fit to the back of the console

Added some hinged, retracting cam buckles to secure it to the center console and fully welded all the seams.

Added some rivnuts for the latch to the console. The latches pull the box towards the console when you twist them, and sung it up against the bumpers.

And it all installed and secure

Still need to paint it or just might clear it. I actually kind of like the raw look of the mill-scale and bare metal with the heat rings from welding.

Also, I might add some felt or thin foam to the inside of the box if it rattles or buzzes at all when I'm driving.

There is a similar sized "Cube" 14 or something like that... which won't block the rear vents..... if you are going to have rear passenger, you may want to look into that.
