Driver Side Seat Problem

I have 2004 Sports model, my seat bottom on driver side is loose. It is kind of wobles, i think it has to do with tilt adjuster mechanism. Does enyone have this problem? Any suggestions on how to fix it?

Found the sourse of problem, fixed today. Now it adjusts smooth and rattle is gone. Thanks for input anyway.

It's quite simple actualy. Seat wobles at it's tilt axis and tilt control. Replacing it with new frame won't fix it, because new one is identical. I had to fabricate new (wider) tilt bracket out stainless steel, which requires milling machine. I know, I wish there was easier way to fix it, but there isn't.

You know, if you could make some more of those brackets, I'm sure you'd have PLENTY of buyers just from this site alone, myself included! How much would you charge to make a set of brackets?

Fabrication

I'm sure there are plenty of others with this problem. I am reluctant to let the dealer touch it because of what you said; they would only be able to R&R with the same parts. I was going to lock the thing down with wedges or something but it would be nice to have a working fix. Some us have access to fabrication equipment and shops. As simple as it sounds, would you be interested in doing a detailed write-up of the fix (with pics if possible)? Even dimensions of what you changed cross referenced to the Toyota part numbers?

Sorry, did not snap pics at the time. It took most of the day to remove, measure, mill, sand, fit, secure and reasamble. So I won't be doing it again soon. You can always drill and bolt the frame solid, but that will elliminate tilt adjust. I'm sure there are more fixes than one, for every budget or time. Take the seat out of the car, otherwise you can't fix it well. Car dealer can't do any custom repairs such as fabricating or welding, because of fear of lawsuits... There is only one way to go DIY. Good luck...
