Drivers Side “A” Pillar Grip Handle Installed on 2014 -2025 T4R

I hope Jason's bracket is still available. I sent an email to ask last night. I definitely need this handle in my 2024.

I can't believe Toyota left this off. I use the handle every time on my FJ Cruiser, where Toyota did include it thankfully.

KJTO doesn't seem to make their kit in grey anymore. All they have is "damaged" ones for sale in the grey color with a no returns policy if you don't like the damage.

Items marked Clearance or Final Sale cannot be returned as they are highly discounted. We have quite a few Damaged Grab Handles in inventory.

You don’t need that kjto handle. I don’t have one and this mod works great without it.

Yes, I'm new so collecting all of the info I need on various things is taking me all over the place.

I never would have noticed the smooth contouring of the KJTO where it slopes into the handle if someone hadn't pointed it out. Looks like the Toyota handle just mounts flat up against the pillar cover. At this point, I'm not sure it matters to me. I hadn't even noticed it until now.

I think sticking with the genuine Toyota plastic might be the best idea in my case for long term protection against sun damage. Over the years I've seen various interior plastic rot out, and I know that the Toyota plastic won't. At least, it hasn't in my FJ Cruiser. With aftermarket plastic, we never know until it's too late.

Hope I can get a bracket because it looks solid!

Thanks. I overlooked that. I was trying to see if I had to drill into the frame to get Jason’s bracket to work. Looks like I do.

Well, I have a nice bracket from Jason. Too bad I have no 4Runner to bolt it onto! It's very annoying to have a collection of parts and no truck.

Unfortunately, my 4Runner may be the ultra rare element known as Unobtanium. I hate the vinyl fake leather seats in the TRD Offroad Premium. I want the "plain" non-Premium TRD Offroad with the cloth seats. There is only one in the entire southeast United States that I have found, and it has $6,000 of options that I refuse to pay for. It seems that if Toyota does make the TRD Offroad, they aren't delivering them to the southeast. I have searched Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Tennessee. Dealers are remarkably uninterested. :shrug:

KTJO says they will be restocking their grab handle kit sometime this summer.

I didn’t know there was an option where one could get cloth in a TRDORP.

What color kit do you have? If its grey i would be willing to buy that A-pillar plastic off you, or the whole kit if you wanna sell it. I have the handle and all already but i rreally like the plastic pillar more than mounting the handle to the stock pillar plastic.

Most people seem to like it. I just prefer cloth. It holds my behind in the seat better. It breathes very well in the Florida heat. Also, I test drove some used 4Rs and the Softex doesn't seem to hold up as well. The fabric in my 2011 FJ Cruiser still looks like new.

I didnÂ’t know there was an option where one could get cloth in a TRDORP.

It's only available on the "base" model TRD Offroad, which I don't consider a base model at all. One thing the Premium adds is the Softex.

So where is the link to using both the KTJO AND the bracket? I'm considering using both if/when KTJO restocks this summer. That assumes that I have a 4Runner by then. I still don't.
