Driving without smart key

Hello,

For the Push Button System, just wonder if I still can drive my 4R without carrying the smartkey with me? Let say if I start it with the key and have my buddy to test drive it without carrying the key.

You sure can, but be very forewarned~ if the car shuts off for any reason, anyhwere, you or your buddy will be 100% SOL.........

Ya I dropped my wife off at work one morning(07 camry) and she had the "key" in her purse. Drove 20 miles home no problem. But like NYRunner said- do not shut it off!!

While you can do this, you'll notice an indicator on the dash warning you the key is not in the vehicle. The vehicle will also beep 3 times every time you shut the door (with it running), and as others have said, obviously will not restart if it gets shut off.
