DRL disable question...

My 1998 model is "Canadian born" in order to disable the DRL on these there's a small grey control module under the dash next to the OBDII plug (close to center dash console). Just un plug connector and remove the BLK w/ yellow stripe wire pin and all from the connector and reconnect. 5 minute job.

I can just cut the black/yellow stripe wire to disable the DRL's? I do not need or want to put a switch on them.

Can anyone please verify

Got home today and shut off the truck, noticed later as I entered the garage to grab a beer that the DRL's were on. Tried fiddling with the switch a little, disconnect battery for a while but no luck. Came across this thread and 5 minutes later all fixed! Never liked the DRL's anyway. I turn my headlights on by habit when the vehicle starts.

For those of you looking for a picture - you don't need it at least for the 2000 year, just pull the battery and look against the fender wall. 2"x2" module with a cage around it, just disconnect the grey plug. Problem solved.
