Drowned my truck

Yeah, that is the same interior as mine too. Except my steering wheel is black.

Let me post you guys a cool link, too: Copart.com

These are insurance sales. Some new, some with damage. Nice selection of Runners and everything else you could ever want. You need a rebuilder's license for some of them. But there is alot that you don't.

Copart auctions? i think thats where my truck is from, i thought u needed a license for all of it.

Just a little update. Yesterday my son and I changed the motor oil and rear diff oil. The weather turned bad so we had to stop. The oil looked surprisingly good. There is a little creamy gunk on the dipstick, but the oil itself was normal. Not sure if it had something to do with it being a fully synthetic oil. I've seen conventional motor oils turn to solid cream with some water in the block.

Today I removed the headlights and baked them at 175 in the oven for an hour. The flooded headlight is losing it's chrome inside, due to the ice I suspect. It will need replaced.

I had a high engine idle problem after the drowning. It wanted to idle at 1500 RPM. I took off the throttle body and cleaned it thoroughly. I took apart the Idle Air Control Valve and removed the TPS. I found the IAC stuck open with black build up. I sprayed some cleaner in there and got the valve free. I reinstalled it and the idle went back to normal. Good thing because a new IAC is $220 aftermarket. I also cleaned the MAF and both O2 sensors. As an added measure I warrantied out the TPS.

The speedometer and cruise control was a different story. I removed the cruise control and ended up throwing it on the ground in the sun. I meant to go buy a T20 torx bit and tear it apart and clean it. I ran out of daylight and reinstalled it. I even tried to remove a sensor from the transmission. It turned out being a wiring harness that goes to the valve body. Miraculously, when I reinstalled it and drove it away, the speedo and cruise were working.

Tomorrow I am going to try to take the ABS module off of the pump and spray it out with electrical cleaner. I may meter out the various resistors in there and replace any I find burnt out. With a little luck I can save the ABS pump. They are not cheap! I am also going to remove the seats and pull out the carpet. Maybe Sunday I can pull the right front door panel, tear apart the window motor, clean it and get it working again.

Total cost of repairs so far: $15 oil and filter, $20? for air filter, $40 for a new pair of Silverstar Ultra headlight bulbs. Oh yeah, $15 synthetic gear oil.

hahahahahaha
this is becoming comical

your truck fixes itself!:lmao:

I have narrowed down my speedometer and ABS issues. I took apart the ABS ECU. It is located behind the passenger side kick panel. I found thecircuit board to be corroded and full of debris. I took some electrical cleaner and a toothbrush and cleaned all the corrosion off. It didn't work. I'm gonna get a used one and try it out.

haha got to love toyotas!! reminds me of the toyota commercial where they leave it out to sea then pull it out, drain the oil and plugs and bamm! fire up and drives away. iv owned 5 toyotas and plan on continueing to do so till im pushing up daisies lol hope the best for your rig dude!! so for so good:driving:

Correction, the speedo and ABS now work..... for now. After the cleaner dried, the ABS ECU came back to life. Hopefully for good this tme. The only thing left to do is install new carpet and fix the power window.

Has anybody used any of the aftermarket carpet suppliers? There are tons of them online. Just thought one of you could recommend one you were happy with. Our floorboards look too sh*tty to just RhinoLine. Lots of grooves and funky crap going on under the carpet.

she's slowly coming back to life! great to hear!

not too sure about the carpet, but I've heard of some of the Fiero guys just using regular household carpet. They say it's a million times nicer. Gotta do your own sound padding and insulation though...

I just removed all my carpeting for a mold issue. I would just steam clean the factory carpet. It is rubber backed and very durable. Mine looked new after I steam cleaned it. I bought universal under padding from JC Whitney for 30 dollars a linear yard.
