Hi everyone,
I spend 99% of my time in the 5th gen forum but happened across this thread in the general forum and thought it was important enough to share it with all of you since summers about to begin...

Here's another version from a surfcasting forum I'm on that starts the same but with a lot of personal stories people chimed in with.

Drowning does not, look like drowning. Must read.

Mods, forgive me if it's wrong of me to post it here but I've seen the "climbing the ladder" thing first hand and thought the extra info was worth reading...

I hope none of you ever need the info but better to know what to look for should that day come.

Also grew up on the chesapeake and eastern shore, parents live full time at the beach now. No matter how much experience we have on the water you can never be too careful. It was a close friend of mine who drown off the coast of Sandy Point State Park last winter when the sailboat he was on capsized, he was one of the most knowledgeable water sports people I've ever met and probably the strongest swimmer, you just never know what can happen...

Excellent read. Having saved a child at a birthday party I can attest that no one thought the birthday girl was drowning. As the article stated you have less than 30 seconds in some cases to make the save. I was able to get there in time. Stay safe everyone.
