Dual Battery Tray Options

Just doing the same myself. Where did you end up attaching the earth from the auxiliary battery? I was looking at the dipstick bracket.

Ground it at the main battery.

I'm a little surprised there doesn't seem to be a reasonable priced option that someone can just click and buy that is made in the US? Am I wrong?

Ground it at the main battery.

Grounded mine to the frame rail below the aux. batt. on the passenger side.

I ended up sticking with grounding to the engine behind the dipstick bracket. All tested OK and isolator cuts out at 12.4v as expected.

Looks like Budbuilt is close to finalizing their tray, as per their Facebook posing on September 11th. They were looking for a truck to do final fit testing, don't know if they ever found someone.

Have you opened your hood and looked where to put the second battery or read the thread?Where we're talking about it the front passenger side and the power steering reservoir and AC hard lines are in the way so a regular battery tray won't fit.The custom ones relocate the reservoir and the ac lines.

You can make custom stand offs and put that tray behind the air filter box but real estate is a precious commodity and I have a compressor and tank there. 2013's are going to have to use this area as the new smog pump up front there though.

harper7, my apologies, and no, I had not read the entire thread when I made my original post. That'll learn me! I just did now though...
I just remembered, shouldn't have done that either , the last time I worked in that area I mounted my HID ballasts in this location. I remember there being tons or room and thinking this would be a great location for another battery. It is a duplicate of the original battery mount on the drivers side. Mounting holes and battery strap anchor points and all. Why the need for the elaborate metal tray. The OEM tray is just a piece of plastic. Why not just relocated the reservoir, like you did, and put a silly plastic tray under the battery and use the factory hardware/anchor points and be DONE? I was just shocked, no pun intended, at the $200-$600 systems other members were talking about. My bad for suggesting the JEGS setup!

Did you ever speak to Bud about getting over to seemhim, I am also waiting for the tray. WHn I spoke to Lisa today she had sia you and Bud were trying to arrange it. Any luck?

Yes and No- its been three weeks since I made first contact with Bud as he has been slammed with work. He called me yesterday evening to see when I could bring the truck in. Sadly the next 2-3 weeks Im slammed so wont be able to get up there.

However there is a strong possiblity he might come down to me before then.

!! UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE !!

My Optima Yellow Top has sh!t the bed. Won't hold a charge after 7 months. Warranty or not to warranty? Thinking about getting one of the Die Hard batteries instead.
