Nice,, i was going to try and go around xmas, but they were closed the only time i could make it. looking forward to seeing it.

Anyways.... flip your screen old timers.... young ones rotate you neck. Here is still the prototype battery tray made by bubuilt. He told me it be a week or so and he would ship me the finshed product. So no prices yet or ETA's. I will say that bud is a great character and passionate about what he does which really reflects on his craftsmanship of his products.
Any how as promised an update with pictures.

Yes it will. The bolt locations will be "punched" to the point that they are recessed allowing for a flush surface for the battery.

He is going to make a sleeve sort of v-shaped (see second picture in previous post) to accommodate the power steering fluid reservoir. Its exactly the same as the stock one just without the stand. As far as how it stays in place, I am still not 100% sure, but believe it will be a bolt of some sort or a catch that will stop it from sliding out. Hopefully we will it see soon....

LOL, go figure. Sounds like this thing has been in the works for almost a year now.
Last March (has it been that long already??) Bud's secretary told me it was coming out in a couple weeks.

Not to steal Bud Rosenberger's new battery tray thunder (I have a set of his fabulous skid plates) but I went the easiest (and likely most expensive) way for stuffing an auxiliary battery in my 4Runner.
I emailed Derek Bester at ABR-Sidewinder in Gumdale, Queensland, Australia about his battery tray and dual battery kit for the Aussie Prado LC150. Derek confirmed that everything is a direct fit in our 5th Gen 4Runners.

My entire order from ABR-Sidewinder consisted of the battery tray, DBi-140R battery isolator kit, battery cable set and battery monitor with battery linking switch. All-in price, including shipping to Canada was $625 AUD.
Installation is very straightforward and here's what it looks like:

New Auxiliary Battery
Dual Batteries- Odyssey 34R-PC1500 Main Battery/Odyssey 25-PC1400 Auxiliary Battery (1700 CCA in total)

Just did the same. I placed a pretty big order that includes tray, Sidewinder, LCD, and a variety of other things. Total w/shipping came out to $650 to USA.
Derek Bester was pretty cool and straight forward. Derek doesn't do Paypal or credit card - he's been burned on international orders a time or two. I ended up wiring him the money from my account to his, no problem.

Yes I agree Philly. To be honest I gave up waiting for Bud and I ended up making my own tray with this guy I found of the internet in NC. Its awesome. I'll post some pictures for those to see. I have been thinking about making some for members here on the forum here but really just don't want to deal with the chance of any problems of it not fitting right. The tray is 100% hand made so the chance for a slight error or misfit is quite probable.
