Duratracs = win

Ordered a set of these for my truck today, 265/75/16, should have them installed after work! Can't wait!
 
Pictures will come after the weekend when I get out of the city! These are not all hype, I'm coming from Bridgestone Dueller HT or HL's (can't remember, edit later), and I'm now doing in 2wd what I would have changed into AWD for. Any packed ice or wet pavement has FAR better traction than before. The Surf feels less like a truck, and more like a car based on what I can make it do now, very impressed so far.

The tire shop had them at 40psi, by the time I got them home they were at 42.5, and they road a bit rough, definitely stiffer than before. I dropped them down to a hot 40psi and ride improved, but I think I may drop them another 2psi and try them out there. I went with the C load rating, I can't imagine what the E's would be like on a truck this light.

I'm confused by your post? "These are not all the hype" but then you go on saying you like them? haha Load range E really isn't that bad... Yes, it feels like a truck but we're driving 4-runners, not bmw m3's so it shouldn't feel like anything else.

Nono, I said they are not all hype, the positive reviews are true! You added a "the" in there, which would change how that sounds.

I would compare this tire purchase to buying tracks for my truck, it made that big a difference on our winter roads, lol.:party:
 
So got my duratracs installed today. The Firestones that came off were beat to hell but I am pleasantly surprised at how well it rides. Comfortable and relatively quiet for such an aggressive tire.
 
Im on my second set of duratracs 265 75 16. I put 56k miles on the first set and never had a problem with them.best tires iv owned Im sure you will be satisfied with them.I paid 748.00 dollars at discount tire in san antonio tx mounted and balanced great deal I think.
 
I just got some Duratracs mounted last week and have so far put about 300 mi. on them. What a great tire! I hope they keep impressing me.

BTW I went with 265/75-16 and the E load rating.

I have heard the 2002's have a little less space in the wheel well. Does anyone have the 265/75-16 Duratrac's on a 02? I think I am about to pull the trigger on some!

I am up in Duluth. The best I have seen for 265/75/15's has been 192 a tire from Discount tire direct, which I assume would cost the same at my local store as well as one down there. I am still early in my search, so there may be other deals out there to be had, time will tell I suppose

4wheelparts.com has them for the best prices! Many of us who have ordered them recently have either got them their or had discount price match them. 4wheelsparts = $192.99 a tire but at checkout plug in mc5off and get 5% off your order. Search for discount codes, there may be a few more and discount is known to price match! That's how I got mine :hatsoff:

looked at tirerack.com $721 shipped - $40 rebate = $681 total price. might be a better idea in my case if I can convince the mechanic where I work to mount and balance them for a case of beer:cheers: so has anyone fit these on a 97 sr5 stock height yet?

How in the world did you get that low of a price? I did the shipping calculator and it added 100 dollars for a total of 816.21

I have alloys. Just bought five stars from runrunner though. My alloys are gonna be for sale for cheap soon. They are in rough shape need to refurbished or used for snow set up. also have some 06 sr5's that will be for sale also. bought them in Feb. they are 17's
