So I just dropped off my truck for the first 5,000 mile service. Asked them to take a look at the e-brake as I really have to mash it to the floor for it to grab even just parked on my driveway. Just got message that it's normal, and if they adjust it, it will be grabbing all the time even under normal driving conditions. Really? This can't be true. How hard is it to just get normal service?

Mine is like that. It may be normal. Test drive a new one to see if it does the same, or you can look up the adjustment procedure in the FSM. All you have to do is jack up the rear, remove the tires, rotate the disk to a certain point, and tighten the adjustment screw to just past the point where the disk stops rotating freely, then back it off one.
I know I can adjust it. It just baffles me that I take it in for regular service, give a simple request, and they can't do it?
That's the same problem that I have, took it in for my 5000 miles service and ask to adjust my e-brake the service advisor told me that it's with in spec and no adjustment needed. When I used to own my 12 sr5 same problem took it in and they adjusted. I don't understand why not the 14's.

It is because they aren't going to make any money off a job like that, or it really is within spec. But yea, it really is too much to ask people to do their jobs these days.
