I pay a little more for 100% gas near my home.

The gas station owner just put a sign up that explains that the Government is about to mandate that 100% gas be artificially more expensive than the ethanol mix.:rant::dammit::ybrick::crybaby::redbrick::nono:

He is choosing to leave one pump as 100% gas, so the customers can choose. He is the only one in town with 100% gas.

why is the Government going to f**k us like that i dont want to run that sh** in my bike. ethanol is bad for motorcycles. this is all bs

Just so everyone knows too... watch out for gas that is a lower octane rating that 87. I went to Colorado on a road trip and almost filled my car up with "regular" 86 octane gas. The user manual says to steer clear of it.

My understanding of this is that the elevation allows for lower octane in areas such as Colorado. I can tell you, however, that I always pump the 89 when I am there just to be safe.

I purchased a new 2012 a couple of weeks or so ago and I've been using only 100% gasoline. I'm hoping to get better mileage to offset high cost of real gas.

Regular 86? That's some "heavy" regular. Regular is 85 in most high elevations that I've been to (including my home local). I've had no issue running it.

I'm just saying what the user manual says... some people that are smarter on the 4runner than I am wrote it, so I figured it would be good to heed their advice.

It says that if you run lower than 87 octane that you can experience clunking or thumping (something to that nature) in the engine.
