Easy door speaker improvement

I used my Dremel to make an improvement to the sound quality of the stock door speakers. The difference is night and day, I could never go back to the stock speakers after hearing how they sound now.

OK, I was really just making a template for creating the mounts for the Focal PC165's I'm installing, but the stock speakers do sound better this way. :lmao:

Nice! I actually did the samething except I mounted my new speakers directly onto these. Quick and easy way to make adapters. I had to dremel out the rim on the inside of the inner door panels to fit them, but otherwised works great.

Because of the depth of the Focal's I have to raise them up just over 1" to clear the glass. So I'm going 1.5", this also means I need to trim where the panel meets the speaker as well but at least it will still help keep the sound out from between the panel and the door.

I know exactly what you mean....absolutely no vibration or distortion. A great improvement.

Nice! :p I'll be using my rear-speakers as a template to make my new mounting rings as well...

Was anyone else as shocked as I was to see the stock "base" SR5 using Neodymium speakers? This is generally not used in cheap mids/full range drivers - so I was surprised when I popped out the stock speakers and saw a tiny Neo magnet on them. It's a strong little fukker, too! GREAT for magnetizing screwdrivers and such :p
